Raise the green fees by a buck and turn on the GPS

It’s about what you would expect from a muni. Cratered greens, variety of turf conditions, bald & beat up tee boxes with tee markers positioned at the worst of it, etc.

The course has been in much better condition. We used to love playing here but it’s going downhill fast. Neglect of the tee boxes is a bad sign for the future. Tees and greens should be primary concerns for the maintenance crew.

Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg, Virginia continues to be a great place to play, thanks to its friendly and welcoming staff who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive.Even though there is some ongoing grass improvement work on a few holes, the overall quality of the course is still very nice, with well‑kept fairways and greens that show they care about conditioning. I appreciate that they’re investing in the turf while still delivering an enjoyable round, and I’m already looking forward to coming back to see how the course looks once all the upgrades are complete.

Course was decent but least favourite of the 3 courses I’ve played in Virginia so far.

New golf carts are state of the art. Greens are smooth. Fast and true.

Course used to be in great shape but it has been neglected in years past. Only good looking thing on the course was the greens for once.

Course is tight. Few fairways run next to each other and others overlap. Hear the word fore assume its coming your way. Almost got taken out a few times today. That would be my only complaint about this Course.

Dogwood Trace Golf Course in Petersburg, Virginia was an absolutely wonderful experience! The greens were in excellent shape, beautifully kept, and made the round even more enjoyable. The staff was super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. I also had the pleasure of playing with a golf course volunteer who was incredibly kind and helpful — they made my first game experience truly unforgettable. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the course, and I’d happily recommend Dogwood Trace to anyone looking for a great day of golf!

The fairways appear to be suffering from mange. Maybe forgivable given the amount of rain and snow this year. Greens were punched and dressed with some crappy mixture of sand, gravel, and WOOD CHIPS! No joke. Need a broom to putt. They need to either manage the money better or find a new greenskeeper.

Lovely day of golfing at a nice course, just a little busy and slow play.

I left a club on the 1st hole. A specialty club only ordered on line. Came back next day and found someone had turned it in. This speaks to the character of the clientele that play Dogwood..to whoever turned in the club. I salute you sir.
