The Golf Club at The Highlands

Everything was in poor condition…tee boxes, water logged fairways, bare greens.

They has us start on the back nine. No big deal, until you get to the front nine. Seven of the nine were temporary greens. No communication at all from the front desk. Disappointing.

Highlands is a great course, but they did not hold back to charge us 96 per head with greens that were burnt to a crisp. To enjoy a round only to play on greens like that just isn't right.

The overall back nine was in great shape the fairways were slow due to prior rain, however, the front nine had many challenges due to overall repair. I wish I known this prior to booking, although they stated a course restriction there was no details as to what the restrictions were. Most holes on the front nine were under repair with limited access’s to the greens. Had known this prior I would not have booked this course, it was very disappointing. Money would have been better spent on a sub par course. My recommendation would be to check prior to playing, and choose another course.

They’re working to bring it back. Fairways are pure, and that was their main focus last year. This years focus is the greens. That being said, it’s rough out there.

Beautiful course with changes of elevation to add to challenging round of golf

Everyone knows the status of the greens so.ita not a shocker anymore. Fairways are immaculate. Still one of my favorite courses and they will get the greens right in time. Memebers need to learn a little about etiquette and pace of play but that's every course Ibe played in Chesterfield.

Club has lost their greens. They were in the worst shape of any course I have played in the Richmond area. Members should be furious with the shape of their greens. I play once a week but will not play here again because of their greens. The Club should be transparent and post a notice on their website regarding the shape of their greens.

The greens were awful. It seems like they have just burned the greens, so putting or chipping onto the ash was terrible. Putts were useless, we just said a blanket 2 putt, because of how awful they were.

Everything else was amazing. I'd like to come back if they fix the greens. But, for $87 to play on the worst greens I have ever seen felt like highway robbery. If you're going to raze the greens, drop the price and tell people before they start their round.

Used to be a great course - greens were horrendous.

You shouldn’t have to pay that amount of money to get the conditions that are on the front 9 and half of the back 9. Plus I tried check in before the round but it wouldn’t let me. The website was giving me extra points to pay upfront but it didn’t let me.

Everyone needs to know. The course has a great layout but the course is a mess. The greens are in absolute horrible condition. Never seen greens in that bad of condition. Tee boxes as well. Don’t get me started on pace of play. We had a 2:50pm tee time and did not finish until after 8pm. Unbelievable the price they still charge to play this course. I don’t recommend this course to anyone until improvements are made. Take your money up the road to Lake Chesdin.

Staff was friendly, carts are new, clubhouse and practice facilities are nice, challenging layout, but fairways and greens are very poor shape

Most of the Greens have large dead patches. I’ve played this course alot and will not go back until they fix the greens. The fairways are great but so many other courses around with better prices and not dead greens.

Severely overpriced for what you get. The staff was not friendly at all and borderline rude when I tried to buy a Gatorade at the turn. They had closed the snack bar and gave us a hard time about purchasing anything. Who shuts down the snack bar when people are in the middle of their match?! The greens were in the worst shape of any course I’ve played this year and never even saw a cart girl for refreshments on the course. When the cost is typically almost $100 a round, you would expect to have these simple things. Won’t be coming back. I’m surprised they have a membership program considering they have a lot of work to do for the simplest and most common things you experience at any course in the area. Do better Highlands ..

Rough winter did lots of damage to greens and fairways not filled in yet. Staff friendly and great amenities. But I wouldn’t play it until greens come back. A few quirky holes but a nice course overall.
