Greens were punched and had a half inch of sand on them. Would have been nice to know before wasting my time.

The course is interesting to play, a lot of challenging holes and a beautiful finish 18th hole.

Pro shop staff extremely friendly.

We had a great day of golf.

Booked a 12:42 prepaid tee time and did not get to tee off until about 1:30 due to a backlog of golfers ahead of us. There were several tournament foursomes still ahead of us when we teed off, so play was slow for several holes. We were able to pick up our pace after they finished, but we were still only able to finish 15 holes before dark. Course staff did not offer a rain check, discount, or any other accommodation to offset this inconvenience. Otherwise, nice course in good shape.

Excellent course to play. Wish they would have told me a tourney was going on . Made our round a little longer than it should have.

This course plays long. Difficult if not on the right portion of the fairway. Thick rough. Well bunkered and tree obstacles. Narrow course overall. Often have to wait for others to clear tee or fairway when playing from the rough or wrong fairway. Course management a premium. Greens have several tiers. Not quite smooth from regular play or missed cuttings.

If tee times are booked you can play for under 20 bucks. Greens are true and course in great shape!!

We had a foresome and two played from the white tees and 2 seniors played from the gold tees. The course is nice and we had a good time on Father's day with 3 generations playing together..

The club house and front court yard area has undergone a very nice renovation since my last visit. However, the course conditions were average at best for the price. The tee boxes did not always offer a flat hitting area, and some had very little grass growing when I visited in May.

Greens are the highlight of playing Sleepy Hole. The course overall is in good condition. Only complaint would be a few of the tee boxes were somewhat bare. Great track, nice layout, beautiful views, some of the nicest greens around. Would recommend playing this course.

Sleepy Hole has been a mainstay for Hampton Roads golfers for many years, and having not played it in several years, I looked forward to playing it yesterday. Fortunately, it did not disappoint. The course was not pristine though I wasn't expecting it to be so. The greens, however, were in great shape. Sleepy Hole has a classic feel from the layout to the gorgeous clubhouse overlooking the Nansemond River - it's a fun course to play and a great value!

Very nice course and value for the money. Although greens had been aerated a few eeks prior to round, they still rolled pretty true. Staff was nice and friendly Club House is first rate, since the rehab. Definitely a place to play in the area 18 always kicks my tail but what a great view.

I would wait until summer to play. Greens airfield was in bad shape

I HAD PLAYED THIS COURSE ONCE BEFORE EARLY ON IN MY BRIEF 9 MONTH HISTORY WITH GOLF. IT WAS BETTER THAN WHAT I REMEMBERED. 1ST OFF. GET A YARDAGE BOOK. IT WILL MAKE PLAYING THIS COURSE A LOT MORE ENJOYABLE. 2ND. THIS COURSE IS CHALLENGING BUT A WHOLE LOT OF FUN. I ESPECIALLY ENJOYED HOLES 6, 17, & 18. MEMORABLE HOLES THROUGHOUT. LAST BUT NOT LEAST. HOSPITALITY. HALF WAY THROUGH MY ROUND IT STARTED RAINING SO BY THE TIME I FINISHED I WAS A BIT WET. I WAS THE LAST ONE BRINGING MY CART IN AND THE GUY THERE SAYS I'LL DRIVE YOU BACK TO YOUR CAR. INSTEAD OF ME DROPPING OF MY CART AND TAKING A LONG WALK BACK TO MY CAR IN THE RAIN WE DRIVE THE CART OVER TO MY VEHICLE AND HE DROPS ME OFF. THIS MIGHT SEEM LIKE A SIMPLE THING BUT ITS THE LITTLE THINGS WE REMEMBER. ITS THE LITTLE THINGS WE TELL ARE FRIENDS ABOUT WHEN WE SHARE OUR EXPERIENCES. ITS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT KEEP US COMING BACK TO A GEM OF A COURSE LIKE SLEEPY HOLE.

For $17.50 with cart you couldn't go wrong. Thee greens were immaculate the fairways are bermuda but since we have not had any really cold weather they were still a little green and plush. Have not played the course since 1990 and this was a great refresher. Will come back.

This is a good, well maintained golf course run by a very competent, friendly professional. I highly recommend it.
