Suffolk Golf Course

Course is very playable, greens role great, nice layout, fairways are ok. Never seen a Marshall keeping up pace of play, too many twosomes.

I recently played at Suffolk Golf Course for the first time and had an excellent experience, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating. The day was perfect, with ideal weather and a well-kept course in great condition. Fairways and greens were mint.

The only minor issue was that the pace of play slowed down starting at the 6th hole due to a tournament ahead of us. It would have been helpful to know about the tournament when booking, as it led to some scheduling challenges and resulted in me finishing one hole short of a full round. However, the slower pace allowed me to meet other solo players, and we ended up playing the rest of the round together, which made the day more enjoyable.

The course itself was moderate in difficulty. While there were some challenging holes, the layout provided enough space for those who might occasionally slice their shots. The staff were friendly, and the course layout was engaging. I also appreciated the excellent customer service after I accidentally left my iPad in the cart. I called the next morning and Rick, a very helpful gentleman, made sure it was safely put away for me.

Overall, I highly recommend Suffolk Golf Course. It was a memorable experience despite the minor setback, and I’ll definitely be returning—especially to retrieve my iPad, which gives me the perfect excuse for another round!

I have played Suffolk dozens of times and always enjoy it. The price was fantastic but the greens tees and fairways were as good as I’ve ever seen them here. The staff was friendly as usual. It’s a great time to visit Suffolk!

The course is always in excellent condition. The layout of the course is challenging enough that you will enjoy your round. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to meet your needs. The rate to play for a course like this is the best deal in Va. This is one of my favorite courses to play and I’m confident you will say the same if you play this course.

The course was in really good condition. After two days of rain, it was muddy but impressively playable. The greens were being aerated which made it hard to putt but the rate was worth the drive from Newport News. The fairways were wide open and it was dog leg central. It was not a long course but definitely made you think where you wanted to place the ball off the tee box. Very enjoyable course for novice to mid-handicappers who want to challenge the mental side of the game. I will definitely come back to play when it’s dryer and the greens are grown back in.

Visiting from out of town. Awesome staff and great layout! Greens were in great shape and pace of play was good. Definitely will come back.

Over the last 2 years this course has really stepped up it's game. Greens were very nice but a little slow (I'll take that over shaved close and burnt up like other courses!). There wer only 1 or 2 tee boxes that really needed attention. Fairways were fine, get out of them though and you could find some thick rough.. It was extremely hot and humid this day but the course made sure the water jugs were full with ice water. For the money you just can't beat this course..
