Red Wing Lake Golf Course

Love how tucked away it is and the layout is fun. Definitely plan on coming back

It has been over 15 years since I played this gorgeous course! It's so tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the overdeveloped VA Beach oceanfront. So glad to find it and play it again, when i come back to va beach to visit family i willd efeintly play it again...convient great price excellent greens and challanging hole and green placement. They made the 18 tough and everyone had to play from the tips-loved it-reminder that the course has some length to it even though on some hole s you could almost drive the green!

With a lot of courses have problem with the greens are in very good shape. They are a little hard making it tough to hold at lower angle approach shots. But putts fairly true.

Fairways are looking good with the rough consistent in depth.

All in all, a fun round.

Pretty amazing how well the course is playing considering how hot and dry of a summer it has been in Virginia Beach. Good job Red Wing!

I had not played Red Wing for many years. The course is in VERY GOOD shape and is priced as a real value. They have one of the largest driving ranges in the area and a good putting green. The staff was friendly and we were paired (randomly) with good people/good players. I look forward to returning.

Fairway lies exceptional, tight turf.

Greens recently sanded (small punch??, couldn't tell) 8/26/26. Coming back soon, they should be exceptional

Had a backup issue that was quickly resolved by the starter Alice.

RW is not an overly difficult course but a nice course to play nonetheless. Most greens are flat but in some cases hard to read. I would give the course a 96 out of 100 in terms of condition. Watch No. 18! It can bite you….

Signed up as a single and was scheduled to play with 2 others but they teed off early which then put me behind a 4 some. Starter had talked to them to let me play through which they did and which definitely improved the time of my round. Had to follow a 2 some which held me up some but finished in less than 3.5 hours. Course was in very good shape. Tees and greens were a bit shaggy, but that is typical of public courses here. All staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. Recommended.

Course is great value for the money. Not perfect, but just right for nice round of golf. Carts are nice, greens are on slower side. Overall everyone was friendly and helpful.

Overall, it’s a nice municipal course. The greens were really slow but in good condition. The bunkers were not very good, minimal sand in a lot of areas and full of water, possibly from heavy rain?

Beautiful course, friendly staff, and pace of play was amazing — especially for a Sunday. Highly recommend Red Wing Lake.
