Good But...
Had a 9:10 Tee Time. Got there early to hit balls and warmed up. Staff Nice and accommodating. Course was in fairly good shape. I believe due to the lack of rain the fairways and greens were hard and needed watering. Most fairway lies were almost hard pan and sparce grass. There were much better ones as well. Greens were hard, wedges from 125 yards didn't leave ball marks on the green. I don't think I had to make a single repair. Front greens rolled smoother than the back. The back was a little grainy and hard to read. Overall, a very nice experience and will play again.
Not going to find a better course for this price
I have played Red Wing in previous years but this is the first time this season and since they redid their greens. I was curious to see how they turned out and I was not disappointed! I have always loved this course but these new greens make it that much better! Everything looked beautiful in this course and the pace of play was excellent! From the tee boxes to the greens, you won’t find a better course in Virginia Beach for this price.
Excellent course for the money
I gotta say the staff here everyone I’m talking everyone was the nicest most outgoing stopping you and asking if everything‘s OK did you have a good day?
Then the course is laid out perfectly with the updated GPS and the redoing of the greens… They were a little slow, but that’s normal. Give him another year. They’ll start getting back to where they. Normally were.
Monday round at Red Wing Lake
I thoroughly enjoyed my round there today. The course is well maintained, and with the replacement of the greens a couple years ago, a fantastic place to putt.
Nice track
This is an excellent course.
My only negative comment would be get updated carts.
Rude pro shop
The course is in good condition the only thing I found bad is that the have a couple older gentleman in the pro shop that are very rude
Great place for the value...
The layout, the course, the staff, all outstanding only reason why I only gave it four stars was because of the greens. They had replaced the green last year and did the entire place with GPS, which is amazing. But the greens are just very slow. If you know that going into it makes it a lot better for you. I figure another year they should be perfect....
Putting Greens, Fairway and Tee Box
Conditions were Good. Work is needed on the car path.
Hidden Gem
Lovely out of the way day. Staff was friendly, course was in solid shape, pave was great. Fantastic value for a Sunday!
Redwing Lake Saturday 1220
Booked a foursome through golf now came out to $50.25 per w tax cart included. Great value. Only caveat is I’ve played here 9 walking at 6pm on a Friday afternoon and it was $36. So cart is included in the round but if you arrive after 5-530 the guys want to go home which is understandable but you don’t get a discount for walking. Good course!!
Good value
Interesting layout, lots of water but very flat. Conditions pretty good for late summer.
Very nice public course
The property is kept nice. Carts (gas) are new and have GPS screens. Greens were excellent. A "should play" when in the Virginia Beach area.
