Red Wing Lake Golf Course

Let’s be clear, this is not a country club experience. However, as a taxpayer in Virginia Beach I am continually amazed by the amenities the city has to offer. My son and I had a great time playing 9 holes and actually returned the next day to use the driving range. I’m only sorry we had not visited sooner.

Easy to play while challenging to score well. A good mix of hole types and shots.

For some reason that I can't think of I was charged $7:00 the following day. Besides that the course was in good shape, It was hot and my wife and I played early afternoon and there wasn't much traffic. All and all a great day

No houses, which is great for my game and my insurance, LOL! Nice long Par 4’s and 5’s, with a few challenging Par 3’s. Me and my buddy were paired with a couple from Upstate NY, and was a great day with great conversation through 18! Will play here again for sure!

Course was beautiful and very fun to play. Guy at the front desk was a little unwelcoming. He was even arguing with another gentlemen when I walked in. Very unprofessional words as well. Regardless of that I’d recommend this course to anyone.

Course was in good condition. The greens were very soft and had some rough spots. Tee to fairway was good and surprisingly dry for the wet weather over the past few weeks. I found the course layout to be enjoyable, with no houses on the course and pure solitude in the woods.

This course was overall mediocre. There are certain holes where the course is maintained horribly. For example the fairways in some holes were the same length as the rough or the drainage after a week of no range with just stagnant water sitting in the middle of the fairway. The back nine is pretty nice however with less of the problems that I mentioned. That still being said if only play here if you are on vacation and looking for a simple course to go and play.

The course was extremely wet making play very cumbersome i.e. standing water, mud etc…. However it wasn’t the fault of the management.. we will try again on a dry day

Great layout, played my best personal record on this course. Unfortunately it was a day after a rain and there were a couple low spots in the fairway which managed to try and consume my ball. Overall, had a great time!!! I’ll play here again!

Course is a nice design and layout but is in horrible condition. Greens are patchy even bare in some areas. Fairways have no or little grass traps are mud no sand. Worst condition I ever played in almost sixty years of playing golf

I came in as a single and got paired up with another group. I had a great time and shot my best PR. The greens were great and course is well laid out. I’d highly recommend. Quite a bit of water on the back nine and the fairways were pretty quick. Overall, trust your game play and you’ll have a great time.

I had fun. Its a beautiful course. They have a good driving range and putting practice area. Their club house serves decent food and beverage to keep you going. The staff were professional. The downside is that the greens were aerated and heavily sanded the time I went. It felt like I was putting on the beach on some holes. I would have given this 5 stars had the putting greens been in better shape when I played (4 stars from me) . I hope to play here again in the future and hope the greens are better.

Great course to play. The greens were quite sandy makingnit difficult to putt but a great course overall.
