Red Wing Lake Golf Course

Decent public course. Not the best maintained. Random Puddles on the green vs the lakes that are supposed to be there. Leafs and sticks all over , in the fall. Expect a little more for 47 dollars a person 18 holes

Attractive course, pretty well maintained, very reasonable cost. Pace of play slow today. Our threesome was consistently waiting for the twosome in front of us — and I am a 27 handicap and my wife is a 37. We still finished 4:25 (but my wife and I played there in 3:40 on 10/6).

Given the heat and heavy rains this summer, Colin and his team have done a great job keeping the course in the best condition possible. There are some serious drainage issues, especially on Hole #3, that need to be corrected as soon as possible.

Very fun course. Wide open but also challenging. It was in amazing shape.

Red Wing Lake Golf Course is conveniently located to the Virginia Beach boardwalk and Naval Air Station Oceana. The staff are friendly and the course is challenging.

Well maintained public course. Excellent value for money. Major drainage issues after heavy rains, due to Navy dams beyond their control. Comfortable for all levels of player. Will deffinately play again.

Very friendly and professional staff, attentive to our needs. Had groups spread out enough so pace of play was great. I am an average weekend hacker so this layout is challenging but not too tough so it keeps me coming back. Thank you.

There were torrential rain storms on Thursday into Friday and there was A LOT of standing water. That being said, the course was in nice shape. Everyone was friendly and there were clear directions given about the standing water. Greens were fast, soft and true. I would definitely play again

Generous fairways with slow fuzzy greens that looked like they were aerated recently. Bring a GPS because yardage are quite limited besides 200/150. Lots of water retention on course but overall a fair layout

I have played this course numerous times. I really like the layout. The greens are super slow but there has been so much rain ty I’m sure they can’t keep them dried out.

The staff is hit or miss. Some guys are cool, some are less than cool.

Be careful using the tee off app. If you try to change the time after you book you are on your own. The course won’t help you at all and the staff really doesn’t care.

I still like the course. Great layout. Pace of play is really slow. Nobody moving anybody around.

There are many other options in the beach.

Overall, course is in good shape. Greens were rough from sand (aeration) and ball marks not repaired. Putts did not roll well or stay online.

played 18 through golf now for $54 with a cart. Good was the course lay out but bad were the low puddled small areas in the fairway that I just happened to find. Out of place with dry fairways. The greens were punched so very bad putting conditions. Bad timing. If I had phoned they would of informed me but wheen I arrived at the course they did not let me know. I made perfect putts but the ball would jump left and right due to the aerated greens. I played Kempsville for $22 and walked with better greens and better conditions. I was disappointed but I would love to play it again with better conditions.
