I agree the course was not in good condition. I would skip this course until it got some favorable reviews.
Bad course
The course conditions are just awful. The tee boxes are trash. There is no difference between rough and fairway all cut the same length. The bunkers are terrible. The greens are shaggy and slow as molasses. Thank god it only costs 20$ on a hot deal but not even worth that if you are even a tad serious about golf. I’m here for vacation from Michigan and thought I’d check out the golf in Virginia Beach and I chose this course because it had decent reviews and the tee time was ideal. Wish I had seen a review telling me it’s not worth my time. Unfortunately will probably be my only time golfing in Virginia Beach.

hot july day on the front 9
good to see greens and tee boxes being watered. fairways were all green and playing hard and fast. not crazy about what they have done with #3 but that's out of their control. the young man in the pro shop was very nice and helpful. couldn't of been nicer

hot june day on the back 9
recent rains perked the greens up. some tee boxes very shoddy looking. asked the young man in the pro shop why i couldn't start on 1 and didn't get much of an answer. enjoy playing there but tired of the back 9.

There were several construction going on around the course . Pace of play was very slow
I do not want to be unfair to this place since this was my first time playing at this golf course. I was not impressed. There were construction onsite, the pace of play was very slow and the course condition was not the best.

Bow Creek 6/12/21
A very good course for the money ($26 w/ cart). We were the first group out due to rain. Even though the course was wet the conditions were fine. The layout was good with a mix of dog legs.
Horrible
Greens weren’t cut down and had a blitz go off the back slowing pace of play down significantly.

Priced accurately
Had one rude staff member. Course was okay. They didn't have any range balls. Would play again for the price I paid.

Poorly maintained
This course has the potential to be a decent course if it was properly maintained and had some overhauls. Until then, I wouldn't waste any time or money going here unless you just don't care about playing in poor conditions.

A Beautiful June Day At The Creek
They started me on 10 which was surprising, and the gentleman in the pro shop told me 3 was now a par 3. Playing hard and fast, and didn't see a sprinkler greenside come on the whole time i was playing. Ball marks on greens not repaired
Nice for quick cheap game
When I just want to step away fast from house to get in quick round while kids are down for cheap I got to Bow Creek very Friendly staff.

Wet day at Bow Creek
was dry when we started. Check in fellow was pleasant and polite. Cart was clean. Public Course kept Ok for the $30 price. We are not "Fancy" golfers looking for country club quality at discount price. Bescause forcast was for rain and i had prepaid on line it was a must play situation. My wife quit playing after 7 holes when i started raining. Her decision. Carts with out fold down golf bag protection from rain. I used a towel over our clubs. Finishing 9 the rain was considerable, pulled into Cart barn to get out of rain and see if it would stop. No one else on course. Grouchy card barn guy came out of hiding and said can't park in here, i was blocking the area. I said no one else around, i'll move if necessary, that did not make him happy he sulked away.
Left cart and went back to our hotel. No offer for 9 hole rain check was made by pro shop, but then i did not ask either.
will never return Bow Creek, much better golf at another public course close by for $35 per person
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
