Nice January day at Bidwell Park
Came off the hill in Truckee to play a little. Bidwell was just the ticket. Overcast 60 degree day, no wind. Greens were excellent, pace was good even though the course was busy, good food at the turn, very nice staff. Not terribly difficult but a nice place to spend a winter Saturday. Thanks!!
Rainy/Wet Day at Bidwell...
Played in the rain this time, which made the pace of play outstanding because there was no one on the course. I gave the pace of play 5 stars for this round, but normally the pace of play at Bidwell is 2 stars as it normally will take about 5 hrs to play a round. The course was in great shape for how wet the conditions were, and the greens were in possibly the best shape I've seen them. Even with all of the recent rain they were very consistent and not too slow. Seems like the new management is making some good changes.
Always fun
We got matched up with a great couple of guys ,enjoyed playing and having fun with them and the course was great as always , I'll be returning soon
A course to challenge you
Ok the weather wasn't the best but any day golfing is a good day. The greeens were ultra hard. Hit too many greens and never found ball marks. For being in a drought, the rest of the course was in good shape. You have your tight holes, and holes you wonder what the designer was thinking. (The green on number 4 comes to mind.) In the end, this course gets me out of my comfort zone.
Course needs updating
Very slow play, 3.75 hours front 9. Tee off at 12:30 pm
stopped at 5:05 pm dark 13 holes. Cart paths dirt and
gavel, man working tracker on cart paths for the rain
coming. One small bridge for the back 9.
good times
My local course. Is in good shape with all the new tee box repairs. Greens in great shape and always a good deal on drinks.
Beware the greens
Very fun course. Generous fairways, but second shot could be blocked to green by big oaks on slight dogleg. Get that tee shot to the correct side of the fairway. The greens are where the fun starts. Very firm and fast, but true. I feel they were very deceptive, being new to them. Pay attention and by the back 9 you might get a good feel for them.
Course10 Staff2
My partner and I had a great time on this well manicured course. We experienced nature at its
finest, taking time to view the almost tame deer, and folks sunning by the riverside. Although the greens had been aerated they were fairly true.
Only problem was with the staff refusing to allow my partner to have his own cart. We are both lung cancer survivors and have a difficult time keeping pace with other golfers. The staff would not alter their policy for he or I. And they seemed a bit cold. My partner is 77 and I am 65. I still recommend this course to all.
Surprisingly Nice condition
With the drought in CA I expected the course to be dry, brown and hard. It was really nice, soft and green. Great condition
Great day
Course was in great shape, timing was perfect played 3:45, no complaints.
WOW !
We expected 100 degrees and average course conditions for this time of year but cloud cover made it a little humid and 10 degrees cooler. Course played like May and finished playing in 3 hours without rushing, Wow !
Praise for Bidwell GC management.
Vastly improved course & clubhouse. The food at the turn was prompt and prepared well - Trebone!
The Pro-shop was stocked with some everyhting we needed and some great deals.
The course was in the best condition I've ever seen and I have been playing there for over 20 years.
Great course, nice setting
The course was in good condition and the greens were excellent. Pace of play was great, finishing in four hours. Beautiful, historic setting in Bidwell Park. Deer were everywhere.
The course was in pretty good shape
We had no wait got out a few minutes early. Tee boxes were in good shape and the greens too. Overall it was a good . Food prices were good but alittle high on there beer prices
bidwell gc
wildlife carts were clean greens were nice the weather was good too.
Fun course
Price is right. They now serve alcohol so the 19th just got much better.
Paired with a good golfnow couple
A warm sunny day in Chico
A friend and I played Bidwell Park a couple months ago, and we were told they would be selling beer in a month...... but not yet. The course was in good shape, pro shop friendly and couple we were grouped with were enjoyable.
Tried to get a fountain drink at the turn, but the regulars get served before walk ins regardless how long you wait. I can see a need for a better service method, once beer is available.
Pretty views
Very disappointed using GOLF NOW. PAID FOR a TEE TIME But was BUMPED TWICE and DID NOT start until OVER 20 minutes LATER. 4 Other WALK ONs paid Same Price WITHOUT GOLF NOW FEES. WHAT GOOD IS IT to pay GOLF NOW FEES for a Tee Time if THAT TIME IS NOT " HONORED " VERY BAD EXPERIENCE !!
Love the course!
Great fun friendly but challenging course...good group of regulars and friendly staff. Great deals at the course and online! Cant beat the hot deals at golf now!
over and out!
