Bidwell golf course
Overall a good course. I think that the fairways could be kept up a little bit better but all in all a fun expirence.
Always good to play
Always has been a good course to play. Enough of a challenge to keep you interested.
Beautiful setting
Very please with the overall experience. On time and personnel were very friendly. The course was in good shaped considering the drought we are experiencing.
Beautiful course.
Greens in great shape and fast the day we played. Lots of deer lazing about.
Course play was extremely slow
We booked a tee time of 12:30 and by 2:00 had only been able to complete 4 holes. The course was well over booked and the Marshall was not around to make sure that things were flowing freely. It was a beautiful day and we knew it would be relatively slow, but it was ridiculous. We ended up leaving after the four holes played. Never had this much of a problem on Bidwell before. Hope to see it better next time we go.
Enjoyment
Played with a group of friends and we had a blast. Enjoyed every minute of it.
good round w/ good people
It has been awhile since I played Bidwell, and I must say ,its great to be around a local Golf course where the staff apreciates there customer base. I got set up with an excellent group and we enjoyed the round. The course was in really good shape, none of that exposed, iron eating lava cap, like at the "other course up the road. I will be back! soon!
Course is GOOD for the GolfNow price, but hat paying $2.49 per player for online FEE!!!
Hate paying $2.49 per player for online FEES!!!! Course is fair condition...
Great greens and great layout, but the pace is much too slow!
Had a great time playing midday Monday but the place was packed! The greens are very fast when cold and the course was well maintained. We got paired up with some kids sharing clubs, they were incredibly slow with no sense of urgency. multiple groups played through and we eventually left them behind ourselves. Even so, the pace of play was too slow for 2 average players. Probably great for groups of 4 or family adventures!
Love My Hometown Course
Bidwell is a great resource for Chico golfers. It's challenging and well-maintained with a lot of character for a course you can often play for less than $20 on the weekend.
My criticisms of Bidwell are that it doesn't have a driving range, and the rate-of-play is often quite slow. Overall, it's an excellent value for the money, and is a great place to challenge yourself to get better.
Requires some 2nd shot planning
Course was in good shape, Smaller greens, Fast roll. Play it smart!
good course
good course, well maintained, friendly staff. good practice green and good practice bunker
A little bit slow pace, lack of driving range.
The pace of play is very slow you can spend almost a day just for a round of golf.
The staff were great, the course is great it is just the pace of play that I don't think I would like play there again.
19 bucks for bidwell - great deal
The only problem with a tee time at 1245 is the slow group in front of us. The need to read up on the speed of play rules. Otherwise great day of golf.
Great Course
I have played Bidwell many times over the years. The staff are very friendly. The course was in very good conditions, alittle wet in some areas. Very well maintained. Greens were in great shape. Overall a great time.
Beautiful area to play
The course is set in a perk environment. Lots of wildlife; deer leisurely walk the course. The play is not too difficult with the exception of the 11th hole which is quite challenging. The greens are not in great shape right now as they are thinning a bit. But overall this course is a great place to spend an afternoon.
Course is in good shape.
course was in good condition but some (2-3) greens need more attention. Under growth is being cleared in many areas of the course which helps overall beauty of the course. Pace was abit slow and no marshalls.
Small greens and slow play
This is a challenging course. It is not a long course but there is plenty of trees and doglegs to work around. Most of the greens were smaller than a mini golf green. Greens that you would find on a par 3 course. The greens were very soft and maintained but could use some attention. The worst part is that I played with a foursome, with one person walking, and we still had to wait on almost every shot. Took us 5 hours to play. There were not any marshals on the course keeping the pace of play where it should be. There is also not any beer sold in the clubhouse. It was hot when we played and to find out I couldn't buy a beer was a letdown. I assume that has driven a lot of golfers away from the course. I might play this again when I am in the are but will try other courses first.
Nice course
Course was in pretty good shape and very scenic. Only downside for me was that the greens were insconsistent...some fuzzy and slow ...others much faster. Couldn't get a grip on the speeds. Other than that, a nice quick round and course looks better maintained than my last visit.
Nice public course
Bidwell is a good value if you book a discounted tee time online. The course is normally well maintained, although they've always had issues with very wet areas around the course. The layout is nice and it's fun for both long and short hitters. Rounds can be a bit on the slow side; it's not uncommon to be out there over 5 hours depending on when you play. Definitely worth playing over other options in the area.
