Good golf course
It's OK playing there. However, I lost lots of golf balls there.
Enjoyable but Beginners Bring Plenty of Balls!
This is a great course for beginners to practice at, it is mostly Par 3's with a few Par 4's so is quite short. That said it can be quite challenging as the fairways are narrow and tree lined. On the holes long enough to use the big stick you better be dead on or you will loose your ball for sure.
One big plus is unlike other shorter Par 3 courses I have played here the greens are a respectable size making it a good course for practicing your short game. However, there is not much room behind many of the greens so if you thin one through there is a good chance your ball will be lost in the weeds or Creek.
All in all I lost about 8 balls and found 3 so net down 5, I will be back to continue to work on my accuracy!
The pace was fairly slow but for me this was an advantage, no one was behind me so I simply practiced some chips or puts on the current hole while waiting for the next to clear.
The staff were exceptionally friendly especially the starter.
One final point, they do have a full bar and restaurant I did not sample this in depth as I was golfing solo but I did enjoy my turkey and cranberry sandwich I purchased before my round.
All in all I am very pleased and will be back when I have the time to spare.
Fun course but very slow
My wife and I paid for 18 holes but only played 11. Pace of play on the back nine was extremely slow and backed up. Decided to call it a day since we didn't plan on budgeting 6.5 hours out of our day to play a round of golf. Given the relatively short length of the course the slowness of play was excessive. They also over charge, based on my experience, for the cart rental at $26 ($13/person). Fair price would have been $13 total. Nonetheless, the staff is friendly and the newly renovated restaurant is nice, convenient and affordable for a mid-round bite and beer. Course is fairly well maintained given the price. I would come back but would like to see improvements to pace of,play and pricing of their cart rentals.
Good Local Course To Play For The Value.
Deep Cliff is a good overall course. People complain that it has no Par 5's, then they should play a course that has Par 5's. Simple...... Deep Cliff is a good short course that is local, with a good location and setting. It is nice to be able to play 18 holes, but not take too long to do so. I will be recommending to my fellow golfers, and will be returning. Thank You Deep Cliff.
Great, quick, fun course, on a budget
The course was a lot of fun to play. No need for a driver on this course. The greens are rather hard, almost better to hit the ball short and have the ball bounce on. The ball will not stick on the greens, most of the time it bounces off if you try to get on in one. A lot of fun. Got to really work on my iron and wedges.
Great course for the fee
Beautiful time to get out and a challenging little course in great shape
Great for short game.
This course is pretty short without any par 5s. Great course to practice your pitching, chipping and putting. The only downside when I played this course yesterday is that the two groups in front of us took FOREVER to finish every single hole! We had to wait at least 15 to 25 mins in every hole before we can start teeing off!
Very, very slow
I think the course management has to re-evaluate how many folks it tries to accommodate. My RESERVED tee time was 1:15, but we didn't get started until 1:45. The reservation didn't seem to mean anything. Once we started, the pace of play was painfully slow. I almost decided to leave on the 5th hole. It took more than 2 hours to complete 9 holes on a mostly par 3 course. We paid for 18, but quit after 9 holes, not wanting to creep through the second 9. I think the course should encourage/require players to hit up while the group in front of them are on the green.
Don't be in a hurry!
Pace of play was brutal. No Marshall most of the time and the one time we saw him, it was---" ho Hun".
The 4 some in front (2 in particular) were just awful. No concept of speeding things up as they played or around the green. They were all hitting from the white t's and should have been at the ladies. No thought of who may be behind them.
We, a 2 some, got 12 holes done in 3.5 hours--then left. Also, I booked on-line (golf now). And I'm sure we were overcharged. My buddy paid so I can't check the receipt. It was $94/95 ? Mar.1st at 1:30... you tell me!!
Questionable Tee Prioritization
We were delayed 40 minutes by the starter while we were asked to tee off at the 10th hole. The delay was to accommodate multiple groups who had already played the front 9. We did not mind starting on 10. But, stacking another 5 or 6 groups in front of us seemed to be the wrong approach to accommodating everyone fairly. We'd like Deep Cliff to consider an alternate approach to handling frost conditions.
Slow play
Need the marshals the move people
decent value
Good value if you can play for under $30 - greens are in good shape, but wish we would've known that they are doing teebox repairs and have to hit off of astroturf.
It's usually pretty open if you get out by 8am, but the starter was letting anyone start regardless of time, so we got out ~20 mins late and had to sit behind a couple of foursomes that had later tee times than us...
That said, still a good fallback when every other local course is charging $70+ on a Saturday morning.
Deep Cliff mats
I don't have a problem with the new mats I think it will help the course stay nicer longer. But some of my buddies hate that you have to hit off the artificially mats that are there for when it is wet. It makes sense and I don't mind, I just think about what I do when I go to the range it's not too far off.
fun course
user friendly golf course
good for beginners
Good value
This course was in fair condition for fairways and good condition on greens. Short par 60 course so excellent for mid-irons and in practice. Good value.
beautiful but a little challenging for beginners
It's a beautiful course lined with tall trees and small creeks. Although its a par 60 course, some fairways are narrow and thus challenging. We lost quite a lot balls but also had lot of fun. Really enjoyed the game and will definitely do it again.
Nice little course
Perfect for walking, nice friendly course. Nice people. Attractive surroundings. Mostly par 3s
