Inniscrone Golf Club
About
Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale is one of the toughest public courses in the area. It is a formidable challenge to say the least, but an enjoyable one. None of the holes run parallel to each other and no two holes are alike either. The greens have quite a bit of variation from one to the next but mostly they are very large and extremely fast. Although the greens only have mild contouring, the rippling landscape still provides plenty of challenges throughout. Strategically placed bunkers perfectly complement the dramatic elevation changes, ranging from pot bunkers to vast expanses of sand. Inniscrone Golf Club's ninth hole is a memorable one since it encapsulates the course's appeal with a ridge of cross-bunkers just off the tee and even more along the left side.

Hole 13, back of the green Photo submitted by Edward3574350 on 12/20/2012
Fall Golf
First time playing Inniscrone & walked away impressed. For $40, I was very happy with the conditions and layout. I thought the design on hole 16 was pretty poor, but over all positive expierence.
Nice Layout, Fun Course
I liked this course. If it wasnt as windy I would of played it better. The winds were gusting about 20 mph, so anybody would play tough. But the course was in good shape. The greens were a little small so your short game must be on. A few elevated tees one of which is a short par 3. Fun little hole. A few blind shots which makes you think a little more. Overall a fun course and had a great time.
Good place to play
This is a nice course to play, not easy and not hard. Played on a cold windy fall day, but had fun. There are a couple of quirky holes, but that's just my opinion. I would play there again though.
Great Place
As far as the maintenance goes, this course could easily be a private country club. It is a very challenging course with difficult par 3's. I loved playing here and will go back ASAP. There are no rangers so a lot of times singles or twosomes will need to jump around to keep pace behind large groups. It is one of the best places around and very affordable!
long and short
I like this course. Fast greens, long par 4's and a short par 3. This course had every club in my bag in play. Some folks joke about the treatment plant however I found the smell of farmland a quaint reminder of years gone by. Truth is it smells like mushroom farms, or to mushroom farmers, money. This course is cheap to play and a treasure in the area. I've seen plenty of courses and the groundskeeper must love his job because I have never played here and complained about the condition of the course. I complain to my ID about not hitting a 90 yard par three though. This course is ripe for a low score with the protection of the course being defended by fast greens and deceiving visual distance. This is a wide open driving course. You can spray it on most holes but every hole requires good putting. Just gorgeous this time of year.
Interesting layout, challenging.
Course was in very nice shape. Lots of blind shots though. I will play it better next time. Beware Inniscrone, I am coming after you!
All you can eat and no dessert for you.
If you think you can over power this course...forget about it. Try not making a double. Or even a triple bogey. Don't blame the course because you got greedy. It sits right there in front of you but takes prisoners like the ones who tried to drive #2 and were left with 30 yards and short sided or #3 ....surprise you just blue your last real shot at an easy hole because you now gone to meet #4 and his big friends, You will have a few chances on the next holes but you'll kick your self for the poor start and the tricky putts you missed because you didn't allow for the buried elephants under the greens, R.I.P. I told you....did you listen? So you think your good...then go out and break 80 from the tips you 4 handicap. Forget about it.
Very Challenging layout
I was apprehensive based on prior reviews but I found the course to be in pretty good condition. The bunkers, fairways and greens were in great shape. The rough was pretty lush for this time of year and was a challenge.
loved the layout beautiful fairways, greens were nice players need to respect what they have and repair ball marks
first time playing here it was worth the hour and a half drive can't wait to go back this will be one of my regular stops!
WOW What a challenging course
EXCELLENT ***** This was a very challenging course. All the Staff were GREAT to deal with. From the Starter to the Pro Shop. The course was in GREAT SHAPE. I have got to go back and play it.

Course is in great shape and staff was really friendly.
The greens had a few unrepaired ballmarks scattered throughout but other than that the course was fantastic. The greens rolled true and the fairways were in great shape. The staff was also really nice. The group in front of us played really slow but the weather was nice so it wasn't too frustrating. Overall a great course!
Lots of rolling hills, presenting difficulty with placing ball.course familarity becomes very important.
I play the course often.I enjoy the very challenging undulating greens challenge. You must think where you want to place the ball on your drives.
My Favorite
Great course ...very good shape..some very challenging and quirky holes... #16 is a killer and # 17 isn't much better ...a must play
A decent course in the middle of nowhere
Played a round with a buddy on Monday 9/30. $45 which is an avg price, but the tee boxes were in below avg. Kind of beat up. Evidence that many golfers werent fixing their approach shot divots in the greens either. Fairways were in good shape and course was a good layout. If the course were closer to home (45 min drive) I would play again. But, for the same price, I can play several closer courses.
Nice course with a few corks..
Hole 16 needs to be reworked.. Not only does it slow play but it is just a poor layout.. Even with a good tee shot you can NOT see the green.
A course with interesting features
Well laid out course. Love the elevation changes and interesting hole features. Best played with someone who knows the course for proper tee box club selection and ideal landing area.
Condition of the course was pristine and lush except greens which were a little beat up like most public courses.
Having a hard time understanding why par 3, 8th hole is ranked as 16 hdcp hole. Front pin placements makes a <3 foot par putt impossible unless tee shot is limited to small area left of pin.
Beautiful
This course was in amazing shape. Greens were fast, fairways were tight. Played great, will definitely be coming back here.
Nice Course/ challenging greens
Course was in great shape with fast greens and some fairly difficult positions. Overall great experience.
condition for public course was great.
yes, I would recommend to anyone who would enjoy a good condition golf course and fair. only one hole not that good #5 short [par three straight down hill.
Fun course. Lots of challenges.
The fairways and greens are in excellent shape. Some of the tee boxes are in poor condition due to being in the trees. There was no water in the ball washers. Pace of play is very good. In my opinion the course is a good value through GolfNow.
