Inniscrone Golf Club
About
Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale is one of the toughest public courses in the area. It is a formidable challenge to say the least, but an enjoyable one. None of the holes run parallel to each other and no two holes are alike either. The greens have quite a bit of variation from one to the next but mostly they are very large and extremely fast. Although the greens only have mild contouring, the rippling landscape still provides plenty of challenges throughout. Strategically placed bunkers perfectly complement the dramatic elevation changes, ranging from pot bunkers to vast expanses of sand. Inniscrone Golf Club's ninth hole is a memorable one since it encapsulates the course's appeal with a ridge of cross-bunkers just off the tee and even more along the left side.

Hole 13, back of the green Photo submitted by Edward3574350 on 12/20/2012
Nice course
I liked this course ., Enjoyed the layout and good conditions ..The greens are fast and in great shape, liked the way the greens are tucked behind the line of bunkers , Must be able to carry over bunker and land on a soft green. I will play again.
Hot hot hot
Course in great condition
Extremely hot and humid took a toll
Nice but some quirkiness
I've played this course many times - actually worked there for a short time years ago. Mostly it's a decent design, but there are 3 quirky holes: #5 is a 90 yard par 3 from a greatly elevated tee. It's almost impossible to hold the green and there is a steep drop off behind the green. #10 is a par 4 from an elevated tee with a short fairway. A perfect layup gives you a 160 yd shot - all carry - to the green. #16 has a weird split fairway, although they are trying to fix it. I played senior tees - important to pick the right tees. But, overall a decent place and priced right.
This course is very challenging.
Quite and overall good conditions to play. This course is very hard to lower scores. All the time it gives me challenging.
MOST OUTSTANDING USE OF TERRAIN I'VE SEEN.
DON'T LET THE PRISTENE PASTURES OF THE EARLY HOLES LULL YOU INTO THINKING THIS IS GOING TO BE A WALK IN THE PARK. OVER-ALL THIS MAY BE THE MOST CHALLENGING COURSE I'VE PLAYED.THE COURSE IS LOADED WITH SOME OF THE MOST UNIQUELY LAYED OUT HOLES I'VE EVER PLAYED. TRUE, THE MANY BLIND TEE SHOTS OR MOSTLY OBSCURED LANDING AREAS CONTRBUTED HEAVILY TO THE DIFFICULTY. RECCOMEND YOU PLAY WITH A LOCAL WHOSE KNOWLEDGE OF THE COURSE WILL BE A HUGE HELP.
great layouts, great view
It was 1st time we're playing and we're impressed by beautiful views and great layouts throughout the course.
Great greens
Greens were quick and rolled true. Overall course length was short, I should have moved back a set of tees. Some rough areas, crumbling cart path, etc take away some of the beauty, but overall the actual course was in good shape.
Clubhouse is tiny with only hotdogs and little snacks. Not actual cooked/prepared food. No ATM.
Not worth the money
No staff to hand out carts. No real interest in the club house, no starter. Lumpy tee boxes. Greens looked like they had been used for mortar practice. Least enjoyable 5.5 hours of golf in a long time. Not going back there again.
Great place to play
This is a very nice course in great condition. My only complaint was number on my scorecard at the end of the round (it's a challenging course). I always love playing here though.
Top Notch
This is a shot makers course, with plenty of challenges once you get to the greens. Excellent golf course.
Fun play, bad staff
The course is a fun and very challenging lay out. The greens are not well maintained more pitch marks than grass. The fairways and are in good shape, the rough is very thick and rewards accurate tee shots.
The staff acts like they are doing you a favor by letting you pay to play, 3 people behind the desk and none look excited to serve. No ranger, and allow 5-somes and horrible pace of play at times.
Challenging course with fast greens
Course was in fairly good condition. Tight fairways and the greens seemed to be especially fast. Course isnt too long but challenging. A good course.
play it again Sam
I would play it again need I say more.Course was in great shape , greens were tough but in nice shape .People. there like Andy and Patrick make it easy to return again.
Slow pace
I cannnot understand some Korean foursome does not pass the twosome. The course needs marshalls to keep play smooth. The hole no 13 needs more explanation for the layout, if not, the hidden creek at the fairway is unfair hazard. The course is somewhat challenging. but overall image is not good.
Nice course for the price!
Played here for $17 off a golf now rebate. Course was in good condition for this time of year. Greens are extremely tricky to putt on...slope of greens will really test your approach shots, shots around the green, and your putting.
nice course if you get a good deal
very short course, its about 6300 from the tips! I got a great deal form GolfNow for $23, I would not pay more than $30 to play this course. Would be difficult to walk as there is severe elevation changes on just about each hole.
club house was OK, staff was Ok, course was OK.
I most likely wont play it again as it was not worth the 30 minute drive.
challeneging holes
greens rolled nice for being early in season, some bunkers still did work, pace of play on back nine was a bit to slow but overall a good test of golf.
Inniscrone
Great layout. Super condition considering the weather challenges we have had this winter. Excellent value and a tough test from the back tees!
Nice Course
Played yesterday with my friend. We teed off at 830 and enjoyed the round thoroughly. Weather was overcast and rained some at the end which led to some wet conditions so I would be excited to head back and play again when it is sunny and dry. Course was in pretty decent shape considering the brutal winter we endured. My only gripe would be that some of the holes were not well marked so being as it was our first time playing there--we were confused in some instances as to if we were playing the right hole. Greens were in good condition and the staff was accommodating. The holes themselves were pretty wide open so it is a forgiving course if you tend to be a wayward hitter. Pace of play was great, we didn't wait once and the group behind us wasn't on top of us so it was a nice time out. I'll be heading back out here at some point this summer & I recommend it to anyone.
Nice course, with some challenging shots
It was my first time playing, and the staff was great in giving me info about the course. Especially since you need a cart to go from the parking lot to the clubhouse....i would have been standing around wondering where to go. The course was in good shape, even with the dormant grasses. There were a couple of tight fairways, but mostly played open. The greens definitely have pitch marks, but they were in good shape considering. #16 was a unique hole (and ruined my chance at breaking 80), so be prepared to hit 3 good shots, otherwise you may be all over the place. Fairways were in great shape/ The driving range could use some work, was hitting off of dirt, with a couple patches of grass, but the practice green was great, and the ball ran the same there as on the course. I would recommend playing Inniscrone if you are in the area.
