Close to great
Booked a 6:48 AM teetime and got paired up with two very nice gentleman. The staffer that greeted me when checking in was nothing short of excellence and extremely accommodating. Our round got off to a rocky start when we met a groundskeeper at the first green watering near the hole leaving a puddle. I definitely understand that this is a necessity and nothing I can do about it but it was tough to start a round this way. As we played things got better but I have seen the course in better shape. That is not to say it was in bad shape by any means but it wasn’t up to their top notch caliber that I have seen with this course before. However, the greens rolled very nicely and there were not many unfixed ball marks. Our pace was average and we played around in about four hours and 10 minutes. Overall I had a very enjoyable day and will definitely go back.
Just OK...
Greens are not in the best of shape, very dry course with lots of brown and dead spots. Fairway has lots of missing grass and exposed dirt, almost better to play from the first cut just off the fairways. Course needs some love but is a decent play, worth 35-40 dollars for what it is.
Harder than I remember
I had no business playing black tees but did. Made the course much more challenging.
Greens were very challenging.
Hardest hole is that narrow par5 (whole 5).
Take two five irons then attack big green and you will get a birdie putt.
A Marshall needed to push the foursome ahead of us. They were painfully slow. All it takes is one slow foursome to slow down 4 separate groups.
Despite of long rainy days, they still allow carts to on the fairways. Although 90 degrees rule is applied, it definitely help the pace of play. Enjoyed it so much.
Nice track, but could be in better shape
Been wanting to play Wildhorse for a few years and finally got the chance. Liked the layout, though the final hole is a pretty difficult, especially in wind. The course condition was not that great. Pro Shop staff were very accommodating, but the guy in the grill was so intent on the one meal he was cooking that we had to wait almost 20 minutes for a pitcher of beer (which we never got before we decided to leave). Also, the Pro Shop has very limited merchandise. Probably won't come back any time soon.
great course, maybe easy from your normal tees
played super early on a late July day. had to beat the 110 degree temps expected. my friend and I got out about 20 mins early, rode in a cart and were off in 3 hrs. We played whites and while the course has some large bunkers and some other obstacles, it played short from white tees. we should have moved back to blue for a challenge. The course was in great shape and we had a great round. I'll definitely play it again.
Much improved
New owners have much improved the overall condition of this course and continue to improve itt.
Course layout has always been excellent
Not bad of a course with some challenging shots
Weird weather where it actually was cloudy most of the day with sprinkles and rain in the middle of July (only for about 2 minutes). Course is challenging in that you have to hit your spots and leave driver in the bag on many holes. When you do need the driver, you got it hit good. Couple of 420 plus par 4's, then some shorter yet somewhat tricky short par 4's. Playing our qualifier next week. Glad I got out to play beforehand.
Condition of the course was excellent!
Had an early tee time (7:06) to beat the heat, finished our round at 11:00 which included a short break at the turn for a polish dog. Heat was never an issue, pace of play and course conditions were great.
Great Round
Great Saturday morning round, started at 7:04 am.
Everything was great.
Course is in good shape
The course was in great shape and there was no one out there at 7am. I finished my round in 2 hours and 45 min. Greens and bunkers were well taken care of!
Windy day!
The course was in tough shape, greens were hard as concrete, as were the fairways. The pro shop was pretty bare and the snack bar was sparse, but the staff there was very friendly and good food.
great spring conditions
course is in great shape for winter and the greens are good and fast---bunkers kinda hard packed
