Surprised repairs
I love this course, this time they had half of the tee boxes under repair or seeding, and several parts of the course that were not in top shape. I think the boxes being closed and affecting in some of the holes the distance significantly lessened the experience and should be notified as an alert to the Golf Now customers who are looking to make a reservation.
Beautiful and fun course to play!
It was a beautiful day and a beautiful course. I just wish that it wouldn’t a 5 hour round of play
Best Value in Tucson
Beautiful views, challenging but fair layout, consistent greens, in good shape for end of summer. Many tees boxes are currently under construction, so course plays short right now. Best bang for your buck of the many courses in the greater Tucson area.
Beware Tee Boxes Under Repair!
Played 8/27. To my surprise all middle tee-boxes were under repair unless you play off black-tees (furthest back) you have to play off front-tee boxes (lady tee-box). This clearly shortens the course of play, for their was no warnings of tee-boxes under repair or discount on green fees for short play. Might want to call club house to confirm all repairs are completed before play.
TEMP Tee boxes
Over half the tee boxes were temp. Some holes were shortened by more then 150yrds. No mention was made of this.
Great course
They are redoing the tee boxes and when completed they will be really nice. Otherwise the course was in great shape.
Love this course
Love this course. Is in great shape, but are in the process of redoing 9 of the tee boxes so had to hit from the black. Great course, friendly staff and great restaurant! Highly recommended!!!
Beautiful course
Beautiful views from every tee box. Always in the best shape it can be year round. Challenging but still super fun to play. Absolutely a must play.
Bad Service
The course is great. Conditions are impressive for this time of the year, however there 6-7 tee boxes that are torn out.
I’ve played this course at least a dozen times over the last 9 months. I’ve never been charged an additional cart fee. Steve in the Pro Shop could not have been any more RUDE or UNPROFESSIONAL. I may never play this course again because of Steve. Thanks Steve, for ruining a rare opportunity I get to play golf on a weekend.
Wasted $45
Looked forward to playing AZ. Nat'l with friends. A playing partner made the reservation directly through the pro shop and I called the day before to verify the tee time. When we arrived at the 1st tee after paying in the pro shop we were advised by the starter that a number of holes had the white & blue tee boxes closed for repairs. Consequently, we had to choose between the ladies tee or the tips. Had we been given that courtesy when we called to book the round or check the tee time we would have played elsewhere. Shame on the AZ. Nat'l staff! Unfortunately, the issues don't end there. The course conditions were abysmal! Tee markers had not been moved in days and were chooped up and bare of grass. Large patches of dirt in fairways, the bunkers were rock hard and worst of all were the greens. They were ridicuously slow and bumpy. If you made a putt over 4' it was pure luck. I regularly play many courses around Tucson. In particular, Sewailo, San Ignacio, Del Lago. These courses are, by comparison, in excellent condition and in the same price range as AZ. Nat'l. The AZ. Nat'l GM and groundkeeper ought to be embarrased letting an otherwise great tract become 3rd rate and not informing players when booking of the tee box closures.

Working on the tee boxes, but still a great round
They are in the middle of a tee box leveling project, which shortened a lot of the holes and made them a bit less challenging, but we still had a great time. Greens were in FANTASTIC shape considering the time of year; best I've played in weeks
Thank you for sharing your experience!
Worst condition I have ever seen this course in
Half the tee boxes were torn up. Dirt and huge patches in the fairways. Landscape was a mess with dead cactus all over the place. This was one of my favorite Tucson sad to see it in this position. Either losing the U of Az money hurt them or just general lack of maintenance. Starter was clueless and didn’t get anyone off on time
Not worth the drive
AZ National is such a nice layout but the conditions currently are horrible. T Boxes being worked on ( who cares about T Boxes? ) so forced to play from an odd set of tees on many holes. Fairways bare in many places. Greens had been punched a while back and still not grown in and grass needed to be cut. Took me an hour to drive to the course and will not do it again unless conditions improve exponentially.
Horrible Greens
Horrible greens and fairway conditions makes this used to be an amazing golf course. Hope the greens and fairways can recover soon with the recent rain we have experienced.
