Enjoyable holiday round
Hadc and early morning tee time for memorial day. Starter was very helpful in getting us off on time. Even though we waited on almost every hole, we still finished in 4 hours which was great for a holiday. Course was in good condition fairways and tee boxes. Greens were a little spotty, as were the bunkers, but overall experience was very good. Definitely coming back soon.
Pleasantly Surprised
This was the last course I played on my Tucson trip. A few locals had less than stellar things to say about Arizona National so was a little skeptical going in. Some of what they said was true. There are forced carries on many holes and a couple have quirky blind shots to negotiate. However, overall I really enjoyed the layout and ambience of this course. There are a few holes that make you really think about your shot selection. However, I really liked this aspect of it. Overall conditions we're good from tee to green and comparable to the other better known tracks I had played in the area. I would definitely play this course again if in the area.
Phenomenal Views
My brother and I have played this course twice and we both rate it outstanding. This course offers it all - well maintained tee boxes (many are elevated and require you to hit over hazards or through narrow windows), fairways and greens (good sized with slight undulations); challenging tee shots, some hazards; and the best views (along with Lookout Mountain in Phoenix) of any of the Arizona courses I have played. Highly recommended if you're in the Tucson area.
Course in good shape
Course was in good shape compared to others in the area. For suggestion, need more sand in rock hard bunkers. Very enjoyable round & will return.
As good as ever
I have played this course over the years and seen it go from good to bad and now back to good. The course condition is excellent and challenging as ever. Definitely will play again soon.
It's a must play
One of the most fun and challenging courses I've played. The 600+ yard 11th hole will test your distance skills while the carries on the pars 3s will test your accuracy. And make sure you stop for a moment and admire the view from the 18rh tee! The whole experience was well worth the drive from Phoenix
Great course.
I play this course 4-5 times per yr and it’s one of my favs.
Only complaint is availability of drinking water out on the course (when you’ve found that you didn’t bring enough.). When we did find a drinking fountain it wasn’t working. It’d be more helpful if the inoperative fountains were either removed or tagged “out of order”. So- carry more water than you think you’ll need!!
AZ NAT’L - beautiful setting, course conditions good
May 12,2022 - weather was perfect. Tee off time 0800 with temperature about 66, 18- round completed in 4:15. and temperature at noon was 93 degrees, Pace just a little slow awaiting group in front on majority of holes, but to complete in just over 4 hours was great.
Course in very good condition. Course can be a little confusing to find the tee box on some holes, additional tee box markings from the cart path would help. Grounds crew a little over zealous on the #15 fairway - as we are chipping onto the green the grounds crew is using a noisy tractor with a blower trailer and would get way too close with grass flying and lots of noise.
Still overall great setting and great golfing.
Challenge Accepted
AZ heat great course, greens were fast, tee box almost flat, every fairway leaves you thinking “ we’re to start this hole. Haha enjoy it
PS the fairway is between the cactus
