Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course

Heron Creek is one of the nicest courses in the area. The course management is superb and has everything from the beginning to the advanced player.

Shoutout to the starter and roaming ranger squad for turning a casual weekend round into a boot camp exercise.

From the jump, the starter set the tone like he was launching the final group at Augusta. Then the rangers picked up the torch - stopping us multiple times while letting the random twosome they paired us up with tee off out of dress code, and waited until the 8th to suddenly care. Golf here feels less like a round and more like a pop-up HOA meeting with carts.

Play somewhere else unless you enjoy being managed by mall cops with whistles.

On of the nicest places I’ve played in a long time

Drive to North Port and play this golf course, you won’t regret it. Three distinct nines, The Oaks, The Marsh and The Creek, all with different characteristics. You’ll play in under 4 1/2 hours and love the layout. Greens could maybe be a bit quicker but they rolled true and were fair.

Played Sunday afternoon in 4:15. Waited on every tee boxes for a few minutes, but not bad considering the course was busy. Conditions were very good even though the it looks like the greens were sanded recently. Fun layout and friendly staff.

We played this course several times already last year. Course is in good condition. The layout can be challenging depending on the tee you choose - so it is up to you to decide how challenging you want it to be. Staff very friendly. The Lady with the beverage cart is great und we saw her twice per round. Pace of play is ok - needed 4.15 per round. We recommend this course if you are in the area.

Really well designed course. Played the creek and marsh course. Definitely need some course knowledge to score well here. I’d have to play a few more times before I could manage my way around greens and tee boxes were very nice. I will be back

Challenging for an average golfer but a very fun layout and beautiful setting.

The course was in great shape as usual. The weather did not cooperate, so we got a little wet. This is a high end golf course, I'm a little suprised that they don't have GPS on the golf carts?? In any event, I used a golf app on my phone for the yardages which worked fine.

Nice course but too many short holes and the greens were uncomfortably slow..

Fantastic course. Beautiful manicured fairways and greens. Beware a little fast on the back 9 after they dry out. Pace of play is the only small complaint. We were the second group to tee off on the front 9 and then placed behind some elders on the turn for the back 9 and had to skip ahead two groups otherwise it would have cost us at least 1.5 hours. Otherwise a beautiful course with challenging dog legs and marshlands to clear off of a few tee boxes. 10/10 recommend.

Everything was great. I can’t rate the bar/restaurant because it was closed the day I played.

The course was amazing. It was a really nice course and we drove over an hour to play there. On the second hole the staff was there to tell us that we were too far behind and we needed to pick up our pace, even though we were waiting on the people in front of us to play. Every other hole they were there to harass us and tell us how slow we were. It literally ruined our whole game of golf. I don’t even know why we paid to play there. It was miserable. We were waiting on the people in front of us the entire time. And then he told us to skip the first hole on the back line to catch up. When we did that, we sat in line with two other groups of people waiting to play. They were obviously frustrated and told the staff. When the staff came to us, they had a terrible attitude and were literally yelling at us before they even got to us. By the time we actually got to the tee station on that hole, they had stacked two twosomes behind us that were waiting and frustrated. Complete mismanagement of the course. I play a lot of of golf for business and this place was the worst.

Course was in great condition. Amazing how much they have put into the landscaping around tee boxes and greens. Course was unique - relatively flat by that’s FL. Rangers were the most engaging I have seen at a semi-private course.
