Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course

First time playing. Will play there again. Great staff. Very busy day so initially no carts we could take to driving range, but they had someone shuttling to range. It limited us in spending time on all the practice ranges. Pace was slow for this day. Enjoyed the day on the course. Great condition considering our lack of rain.

Our round started off on The Marsh. It took over 2.5 hours to play 9 holes with a lot of waiting. There was a ranger that was trying to speed things up. This 9 was a bit rough some of the greens and fairways needed work.

We played the next 9 on The Creek and pace improved and so did the conditions. Our foursome thoroughly enjoyed this 9.

Staff were excellent. Grounds are well kept.

If both nines were like The Creek I would have rated this course a 5*.

What a complete rip off. This place is a goat lot.....and not even sure goats would eat there. Our foursome paid 125.00 per person to play this course(135.00 including fees). We were in the area and played 5 different courses in 6 days and this was by far...by far .. the worse course. The conditions from tees to greens were pathetic. Place has a lot of nerve getting the rates they charge. Believe me I understand the rates in Florida you pay now and the other 4 courses we played were in the range of Heron but were very nice. Who ever is rating this course positively must be r must be related to the owner. PLEASE BELIEVE me.... Horrible place to play a round of golf

this was one of the four courses we played on our three day golf outing , it was the only one which everyone said they would not play again.

Its not an easy Course to play, especially when you play it for the first time. You have to be very careful where you aim as the hazards are lurking all over.

I also made the mistake to play from Blue, should have played White as I had problems carrying the drives long enough on several holes.

We will come back one day, but being from abroad it will have to wait.

All staff was extremely friendly and I can’t fault them anything.

Good variety of par 3’s and par 5’s in between acceptable par 4’s. To reach their designed layout, we traveled some pretty long distances from greens to the next tee(s).

Course was in pretty good condition despite the lack of rain.

Great course my favorite course in this area. Great layout with many tee options to make the course as tough or as friendly as you want. Don’t miss out, definitely need to play this course.

Course is a very good layout in decent condition. The pace of play leaves room for improvement. We played over 5 hours waiting on several holes. Should be able to complete play in 4:15 or less.

Bag drop guys great, checkin guy, pretty good, starter, Mr. Drill sergeant. Told us front nine had to be 2 hours 7 minutes. Sure that isn't 2 hours, 6 minutes and 48 seconds????? Says don't be mean to the the Marshalls, Now, that me be doable for those who KNOW the course, but with no GPS to show hidden hazards, virtually impossible. It's nerve racking enough getting in to sticky situations and taking a moment to figure the best way out, but having the Marshall hiding behind some random bush watching and looking at his watch..... give me a break. Next, undulating greens, which I am cool with and putting is a very strong suit of mine, but it makes for more time on the green, simple as that. NO water provided in the cooler or on the course. NO cart girl until the turn, and she was a doll, but frustrated as gestapo boy with shades on was staring us down while we SPENT MONEY!! and had to make a comment to move along!!! Oh, and yes, we too got scolded for being 4 minutes off pace, said they were holding EVERYONE back because of us. Well, we hit when group in front cleared a fairway or green. There are so many better courses to play in the area. Don't waste your money.

Frost delay and one of the staff was a little testy. Once we got going it was a good day. Marsh and Creek 9’s. Beautiful course. Could use GPS or at least a better score card for these old eyes but we truly enjoyed the round.

Conditions and layout are outstanding- very solid track
