Great course! Loved it!
I played the Creek then Oaks. Course was in great condition, even with drought. Best course I played during the week. Very challenging but fair. We had to wait on our shots alot BUT that was the ONLY negative about the course. The 4some in front of us played slowly due to their age. I understood since that will be me (hopefully) in 25 years. You definitely can't walk the course. Lots of distance between holes. But I loved it! Can't wait to come back next year & play it again.
Heron Creek is a Heaven on earth.
We played Heron Creek golf course many times and never disappointed. We highly recommend Heron Creek . The staff here is so friendly.
Shame on you Heron Creek
Shame on you Heron Creek for charging $150 when the course conditions do not dictate it. 7/9 greens on the marsh side are terrible. Sand all over them. I'm not sure if that's the southern version of aerating but that's just pathetic that you're trying to have us put through greens that have sand. And I'm not talking about the sand that is been pushed into the greens this is sand like from the beach. You should at least have a disclaimer before we make teetimes alerting us to the fact that the greens are basically trashed.
Fun course.
Lots of tee boxes to choose your challenge. Course is in pretty good condition. Greens are receptive but vary in speed. Mostly good greens. Nice clubhouse. I’ll be back.
Disappointing
Greens and fairways were both in terrible condition. Shocked and disappointed as Heron Creek is one of favorites.and brought two guests to play it. It is not worth the money that price in the condition it is at this time.
Terry
I was very impressed with the whole layout of Heron Creek. The course was in great shape, the weather was perfect and we were paired with a couple of nice guys. Perfect day of golf!
Nice day.
Very professional, attentive staff start to finish. We played Marsh and Creek nines, course in beautiful shape, greens were ideal. Only suggestion is to have more yardage markers in the fairways. Many sprinkler heads were devoid of yardage indications, had to do some guessing.
Greens were a little ruff. Other than that all good
Slow play
4:45 round
They say it should be 4:00. Ha. 4:15 would be a better goal? But still missed big time
Good Experience
Heron Creek does an admirable job with public play. Staff are friendly and practice area is among best in area. All three 9's offer a fair challenge if you select the proper tees. Pace of play is always a challenge in-season. Ours was 4:20 today. Right on what their ranger told us. If golfers would simply learn to be better at ready golf and park the carts between the flag and the next tee. Walking back to your cart to the right of the green, when your next tee is to the left is a waste of time and inefficient. Saving one minute a hole is 18 fewer minutes a round! If everyone had been a caddie as a kid, they'd understand. You learned quickly where to drop the bags so you didn't have to carry them as far. Cart golf isnt mu h different. I'll step off my soap box now.
Great Course, nice people, average condition.
This is a great risk/reward course! There are lots of obstacles to hit over which is really fun. Greens and fairways are in very good condition for this time of year. It could be a 5 Star with a little more care. One beverage cart for 27 holes is light. One restroom/water stop per 9 holes is nice, but there were no cups for water. No free water on the carts. Conditions juts off the tee boxes, greens and fairways were in poor condition relative to the quality of the venue.
Overall though, we loved the experience!
We played the Oak & Marsh courses, a few of the greens on the Marsh Course were stressed and we were told they had some kind of mold problem.
Saturday Golf
Course was in good condition considering significant drought in this area. Staff friendly and helpful. Got a late start do due flat tire on one of the carts. Twosome behond did have to wait as expected. Get more friends. They did hit into us on 17 green, both players. One ball landing within 10 feet of me on the green. Could have been a really bad situation.
Issues with the greens
Some diseased greens. Green speeds really inconsistent from hole to hole
