DeBary Golf & Country Club
About
DeBary Golf & Country Club, a Lloyd Clifton-designed course sits on hilly land. The layout is fascinating. No two holes feel similar. Only two holes have water, but there is significant sand. Dense woods of pine and evergreen border the fairways. The rolling fairways and natural layout give the golf course a Carolinas feel. The par 5s are all in the 500- to 550-yard range. The par 3s are all approximately the same distance, running 180 to 190 yards from the back tees, and 150 to 160 yards from the white tees. DeBary is one of the few Clifton golf courses that do not top out at more than 7,000 yards.

Unexpected Close to Perfect Course
I paid an economically affordable price for a close to
Perfect golf course. From the ambiance of the neighborhood to the enjoyment of each challenging but playable hole. A few of the fairways need a little TLC but management seem to be on top of it.
Lack of grass
So we’ve played this course a number of times. Decent layout and the greens are the only part of the course that are maintained.
No grass on the tee boxes, minimal grass on the fairways. With the amount of rain we’ve had you would think everything would be green. Not so here. For the amount they are charging I’d expect a more groomed course.
I’d think twice before Mather trip up to debary.
Terrible conditions
Played this course a few years ago and enjoyed the layout and conditions. For that reason we booked again online to come back. When we showed up the range was looking pretty terrible but didn’t worry too much. But when we got to the first tee the starter told us they had irrigation issues and that their main pump had gone out and they were trying to get the course back up to par so there may be a few dry patches.. Well that was the understatement of the round. Every single tee box was a weed filled patchy sandy mess. The fairways were basically a firm sand trap. It was a disaster!! The greens were the only thing that was playable and I’d give them a 2.5/5 stars. This place should be ashamed for charging full price without notifying me in advance. Tony over $60 for an absolute dog track is abysmal. Completely wasted Saturday morning I could have used to play elsewhere. Had they owned the issue before booking and offered a discount I wouldn’t be this angry. DO NOT pay more than $20 for this or you’ll be disappointed. I even sent the clubhouse a message from their cart while playing that I was very unhappy about the conditions and they never responded. Terrible experience
Awesome DeBary!
This golf course is always in good condition. It is a very awesome place to play. The pace is always good. The staff is very friendly. I love DeBary Plantation! Will always play here when there is a good deal! Most definitely recommend this golf course.
The course has had some irrigation issues. The management was quick to respond to my review via text and apologized for the course conditions. Great layout and was always in fantastic shape but honestly I won't be playing this course again for at least 4-6 months in the hopes it comes back. It isn't worth playing at any price currently and especially at full price.
Solid course
Good course, conditions were solid, greens were fast, bunkers had good sand, staff was helpful and friendly, great value for my round. Pace of play was good. Would happily play again.
Awful Condition
This course is in awful condition. The fairways are barren and the tee boxes have been overseeded with weeds!
Fun track
I always like DeBary. The tee boxes are a little beat up. They punched the grains about a month ago, so they are still slow but they are lush
Haven’t played this course in a while but have always had a good experience. The course itself needs some work as the fairways were in bad shape
Gonna Hold Off Playing There Fot Awhile
Rough Shape
Tees about gone
Driving Range Horrible
Will be years before I go back
Downhill
Course has been in a state of decline for sum time now. Former member. Could not continue to bring friends out to play. Tough track. No fairway or tee box grass to speak of. Most golfers expect to find grass on course. Driving range is a great example of attention to detail. Looks like a desert. Scary how the course has been allowed to decline. Should be a $25 course the way the have destroyed the course. Traps have all been redone by novices. Unplayable from fairways. True travessy what has gone on. See for your self.
Enjoyable round
Course was a little rough compared to the last time we played here. It is understandable considering the draught. Greens were still a little bumpy in some areas after being punched a few weeks back but were in decent shape. We had to seek shelter for over an hour due to lightning strikes near by but were able to finish the round right before dark as the ranger was considerate of the situation. Great staff. Will return
Friendly and helpful staff.
My brother and I enjoy playing this course. Challenging slope ratings and a very friendly staff makes for an enjoyable outing.
Gotten worse
De Barry was pure a couple months ago but it definitely needs some help at the moment. Tee boxes are shot, a lot of crab grass lies around the green. Punched greens. Had a lot of fun! Not worth $73 right now though!
Challenging Test…Rough Shape
I’ve played DeBary many times and couldn’t be more disappointed in how it looked during our round. Tee boxes and fairways were terrible. Greens were recently punched, so they get a pass, but it would have been great if it was mentioned PRIOR to play. Some will discount the round because of it…not DeBary. Really disappointed as I have enjoyed playing this track in the past as it’s a good test, but they need to get it back in shape if they want me as a return customer.
