About
DeBary Golf & Country Club, a Lloyd Clifton-designed course sits on hilly land. The layout is fascinating. No two holes feel similar. Only two holes have water, but there is significant sand. Dense woods of pine and evergreen border the fairways. The rolling fairways and natural layout give the golf course a Carolinas feel. The par 5s are all in the 500- to 550-yard range. The par 3s are all approximately the same distance, running 180 to 190 yards from the back tees, and 150 to 160 yards from the white tees. DeBary is one of the few Clifton golf courses that do not top out at more than 7,000 yards.

Course review
I really enjoy playing this course,however we called the club house about slow play ahead of us and nothing was done and we spent over five hours for the round.

Overall condition are good. Greens are real good. Fairways could use some grass but otherwise it is in good shape..

worth the drive
I play this course as part of my regular rotation of courses, about once every 2 months. Great layout, greens could use a little water...so fast you can't stop the ball close no-how.

We drive an hour to play here, but it’s worth it. Great layout, some hilly fairways, challenging greens, good hot dogs on the turn.

Course was in great condition. Greens was very fast. Great pin placements. Course gets rating from greens. No water on course. Being on in GIR means you cannot let up. Overall great experience , good challenge and good value. Ladies friendly course.

Always Enjoy this Course
Although it’s almost a one hour drive north through the construction traffic on 4, this course makes it worth the drive. Interesting, challenging layout with hills and valleys and fast greens. We were paired with another couple who had not played DeBury, and they were immediately impressed by the challenge of the first hole.

Nice greens but difficult
Greens were in very good shape, but pin placement was difficult today with lots of slope. Fairways were dry, hard and cut low. Difficult to get the club under the ball, but the roll was forgiving.

around the green were wet..no proper drainage system

Good Condition
Have played Debary a few times a year for several years now. Challenging layout, good fast greens and fairways. The only negative is there is out of bounds on both sides of every fairway because of the course wandering through a fully devoleped subdivision. Not a big deal if you are striping the ball. But if you’re having an off day, you’ll loose a few balls.

Enjoyable largely driver free challenge
Overall a great round of golf. The course is firm from fairway, bunker, to green. The greens aren’t the fastest in the area (that’s Mayfair), but they are in the running for second.
A great strategic challenge which largely makes driver irrelevant. I think I only really needed driver on 2 holes, other than that 3-wood (250 yards) or less was enough to get into the right strategic location for the best routing to the green.
The greens themselves break a lot less than you think. I found myself hanging a few putts on the high side over estimating the amount of break in a few putts.
For the price ($15) you really can’t beat it.

Tough Pin placements
Good test of golf , course in very good shape. The greens keeper is a not a friend to the average golfer. Pin placements were brutal the last two times I played there. Pace of play was slow. Took us 4 1/2 hours to finish both times.
