DeBary Golf & Country Club

This past weekend, there was a tournament scheduled with no prior notification. We didn't find out until we checked in.

The course then closed the range two hours early and we were left without a chance to hit balls and properly warm up.

They then rushed us (and everyone else) out to the tee box where we all just sat and waited. Since the course disregarded tee times and pushed everyone out one after another, pace of play was terrible all day, and we all waited on every hole and almost every shot.

On top of all this, after our first four holes, they moved up all the tee boxes for the tournament, forcing everyone else to tee off from the grey markers.

What a poor experience and this is not the first time we have had an experience like this. Not sure when or if I'll come back. I would hesitate to recommend this course to anyone.

I've played on better cow pastures. No grass on course, looks like it hasn't been watered in weeks. Pitiful.

Overall, I enjoyed the course. But, something must have happened to make the greenskeepr mad before s/he started work. The pins were in downright nasty spots! :-)

This was our third round in the Deland area and our first at Debary. We had a positive experience. We found one green way too fast while others were more playable. The traps were well maintained and playable but there were a number of areas where grass was hard to find. We'd go back but are going to check out a few more area courses first.

The greens were very fast but hard, not very receptive to approach shots. The fairways were hard, dry and sparse. There is not much room for error on the course. If you miss the fairway or rough you end up in ferns or someone's yard. The course is average. Not many memorable holes on the course. My group plays here a few times a year just because it's close, but not one of my favorites.

had a great time playing with Ron crook I shot a hunter but I think I could have done better without some of the penalty shots I had. LOL

Nice variety of holes. Get to use many of your clubs in your bag. Greens, fairways and tee boxes very nice for this time of year. Will definitely play again.

It’s a good course not great but pretty good! The price is a little high for the area but it’s not that bad

Loved it. Canceled other course to play it again. Delayed leaving for home by a few hours to play a 3rd day. We will be back next February

Greens are well maintained, but fairways are rough.

Was ignored by the starter at least for 10 min. My wife and I approached him and waited for a chance to talk to the starter, who never stopped chatting and laughing loud with other players. I gave up on him and return to my cart which was parked right beside him. He refused to acknowledged my presence until everyone left the area for tee box. Only then he told to us to follow the last group. Unfortunate!

Overall a good day. Play was a little slow ...close to 5 hrs. Condition if course was good and seems to be improving. Greens were great...a little slick. We snagged a good deal thru Golfnow and my 3 buddies who never played the course were happy.

Bar ran out of Yuengling...no one runs out of Yuengling!

The Pro Shop needs to take more responsibility for the starter he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. You should not have to start 45 minutes after your tee time and allow other people to tee off in front of you Other than that very nice course.

The fairways ha basically, no grass and we’re full of plugs.The greens were okay. The big problem was a 2 hour and 45 minute front nine. We quit after 9 holes. No fun to wait on every shot.
