Great course
I have played Dunne quite a few times now, I really like this course and it is somewhere I make sure I get too every season. Unfortunately this round the greens hand recently been aerated and not fully healed yet. Which I understand needs to happen but unfortunately we still payed full price for the round. The course held up great as we had just experienced some heavy rains. I highly recommend this course to anyone.
Great layout
Sand traps very hard and crusty; may have been due to recent rains. Rough very long.
Great track but traps need help
Many of the traps are in bad shape and there are a ton of traps
George Dunne Great in winter
Played win 10 year old son. 38 degrees and sunny. Course was in great shape considering winter. Very challenging course.
Great old course in Chicagoland
The layout is challenging for all levels. The course is in great condition (some traps are under repair). One of my favorite courses in Chicago, truly a classic old course that stands up to the test of time. I was back in Chicago for a wedding and was lucky to get an early tee time, 7:48, we finished in less than 4 hours
The staff was very friendly and the rangers were present to keep things moving. I wish this course we're in Philly.
Horrid Pace of Play.
Have played here may times since it was built in 80's and experienced the Hi's and Low's of this excellent layout. The current spacing of tee times 8 minutes apart definitely ruins the chance to enjoy a beautiful day on a good golf course. Starter claimed they were " a bit" behind, but that turned out to be 20 mins. The 5 hour slog where we waited on EVERY shot left no chance to find a rhythm or avoid having the group behind us breathing down our necks all afternoon.
Back to 10 min tee times please.
Under 4 hour round
It's always a pleasure to play George Dunne golf course, especially when our foursome finished under 4 hours. Looking forward to playing here again soon.
Great course layout but $5 per beer is outrageous
I've played this course a handful of times. My foursome really enjoyed the layout. There is a lot of tough bunkers and forced carries over water. Very fun risk versus reward shots. There was an outing on our day of play so things were moving a little slow and the greens had some wear. All in all very fun course that we like to play. $5 per beer is an outrageously expensive price point. I didn't want to buy beer because of it and I usually enjoy a few while playing my round.
George W. Dunne - A Classic Course
The staff, especially the very tall young man with glasses is always welcoming, polite and smiling on check in. As usual the course is very well kept. make sure to bring your sand wedge as you will likely land in a few of the 160 sand traps. The greens are always a challenge as they have slants and rolls as you never seem to find a flat area near the pin. The only negative part of the course are the greens as they are hard and you they generally do not hold a nice drive, as the ball either bounces or rolls off the green. Otherwise the course is well maintained.
Cook County gem
A well maintained course, plenty of challenging holes, lots of water and sand hazards.
Amazing and nice course
This is one of the best golf course I have ever tried. The course pretty difficult but very nicely and very well maintained. This course was ranked the hardest course in the state. I love it
Need gps
They removed the gps from the carts, and their distances on the course are inaccurate
