Needs some work
Although we had a rough winter, some of the greens were in bad shape. Number 8 green was horrible. Sand quality still an issue.
I will still return, as I love the layout. Just needs some work.
Great Greens at George Dunne
Greens were in nearly perfect shape.
Sand traps have always been problematic and still are. Paid 29.00 thru Golf Now and was great deal all things considered.
Forest preserve national
They over book the course on Memorial Day. Our tee time was behind by 20 Minutes because of pace of play. We played 5 holes in one hour and 15 minutes. Lots of complaints by many golfers but the rangers didn't seem to get much done to move the pace. Did get a credit for the full round but a wasted afternoon
Beautiful and challenging
First time I played this course on the Friday before Memorial Day. Very crowded, teed off 30 minutes late due to unavailability of powered carts. Its a beautiful course and more difficult than the courses I usually play. Coyote Run, Odyssey. Got my first hoe-in-one on hole #3 with a six iron, which makes this day and course very memorable. Will play this course again, but next time mid-week.
BRUTAL!!!
Had a 3:48 tee time and was told there was a 45 minute back up due to insufficient # of carts. Asked for a refund
and received one. How can a course schedule tee times every 8 minutes and not expect slow play and no carts? Absolutely BRUTAL!!!
Beautiful course
I play George Dunne a few times each year and it is consistently a great place to play. There are still a few bunkers being re-worked and sopme of the fairways are spotty from the past winter but overall I really like to play there.
George Dunne National-Oak Forest
Despite the heavy rains this week, course was in good shape. A couple of traps were still wet, but that was to be expected.
A legendary layout mismanaged
Traps have been neglected for years . What is mngmnt company thinking about ? Is sand too expensive?
Great shape for this time of year
I have played George Dunn many times and I must say it is in maybe the best shape I have ever seen it. I hope it stays this way as it gets a lot of traffic throughout the summer. Fairways were plush, greens rolling true, GPS on the carts. You can't beat it on the south side except maybe Harborside. If you can find a great deal, even better. We played for $39 on golfnow, a steal in my opinion for this course in great condition. Will keep going back.
Great value
At $30, Geo Dunne was an awesome deal. Paired with another twosome that played well and kept pace. As bad as some courses are this Spring, Dunne was in fantastic shape. Wish the other players would take a moment to repair ball marks, but that doesn't even happen at some of the areas toniest clubs.
The bunkers need a ton of work, but I was only in one of them today. My playing partners were not as fortunate, and they had to rake and place nearly every shot
This course has great features
Absolutely love this course. The conditions are better than ever and it is a beautiful course
Great course slow play
3 hours for 9 holes and always the problem here, love the course but they need to spread the times out more and $7.50 for a beer while you wait for your late tee time, come on guys you are not the Chicago Bears
sand
Sand traps have been a problem here since day one still working on it
wonderful layout
greens a little bumpy
Dunne is always a Good Play
Risk/Reward is the theme for George Dunne. Always in pretty good shape and a fun place to play. Played on mother's day in the afternoon and moved around the course extremely quick. I'm talking sub 2 hour 9 hole pace. This is unheard of for this course as usually my gripe is with the pace of play. Could have been the day and time so I won't tell you that I'm convinced they've turned a new leaf until I see it again. Always a fun place to play and you will enjoy yourself. If they can keep the pace of play good this will always be a top destination in the Chicagoland area.
slowest course on earth
this is the slowest pace course i have ever played in twenty years will never go again left after 8 holes
Tough track
Great course! Good condition, and dynamite layout. Fairly priced, but that attracts a lot of beginners which slows the pace of play tremendously considering how tough it is. All in all, I'll be back.
too slow
great course, good conditions for this early in the year, but would not come back due to the ponderous pace of play. Left after it took 4 hours 45 minutes to play 16 holes.
staff was apologetic and offered 9 hole rain check
NIce Course
A very tough course, but it is a "must play". Challenging greens and water in play on many holes.
Top notch upper echelon course in the south suburbs
This is a must play course if you like to golf in the south or southwest suburbs. Pay the little extra and treat yourself. What a diamond in the rough!
Very well kept very clean maintenance is doing a great job
One of the best kept secrets on the south side very well kept golf course very friendly staff everybody was moving at a very good pase we didn't have to wait on none of the holes I would go back in a heart beat as a matter of fact I'm going back on Saturday that's how much we loved the course keep up the good work and the price was great
