Great Value

Played for the first time yesterday with my brother from Columbia. It was half way for both of us, I live in Beaufort. We had a great day. The course was in excellent shape. We both thought it was a great value and also a challenging layout. Will definitely plan to return.

Aeration

When we arrived we were surprised to find that only 9 holes were open do to aeration of the front 9 and forced to play to back twice. There was no notice given anywhere. The course is nice for what you pay I want to go back when when everything is open again

An unexpected gem

Wonderful, inexpensive coursei in marvelous condition despite heavy rains that forced cart path-only play. Greens are exceptionally well designed and drained, and putt true. Highly recommend this course.

Challenging little gem

After living nearby for almost 2 years, I finally decided to give it a run. I wish I had sooner. Even though the course demands precision yardage shot off tee and fairway, it was beautiful and I really good shape.

Problem with booking

I booked on Golf Now around 10:00am - arrived at 11:45 for my 12:04 tee-time. The club had no record of my reservation and were completely booked for the day.

Fortunately we were only a two-some and they paired us with another group.

I will not book with Golf Now ever again.

Course was great - Golf Now - not so much.

Great course but slow!

The course is fun and in fantastic shape. The green fees are very competitive. My only issue is the pace of play. They let groups larger than 4 play and it makes for unbearable waiting on every hole. The last few times I played there it took 5 hours. I even called to the clubhouse to complain. The marshal should be more active to keep people moving. At times there would be three groups on each hole

Favorite in this area

Very enjoyable course. Winds through a swamp, lots of wildlife, and challenging fairways. Greens are great, lots of water.

Worst service EVER!

If you feel like being talked like an idiot then by all means go to this course. It starts with the angry, overweight and unorganized pro shop attendant to equally rude and angry starter. The #1 handicapped hole is the first hole... Stupid. Oh and there is no range. Are you kidding me? The green surrounds are wet. The place is just the worst. Don't waste your time or money.

New greens have grown in nicely

I have played this track a bunch. The new greens showed up a yr ago. They have now come in and the ball rolls true. This course will challenge all skill levels...water, bunkering, undulations...everything.

Great Course

I'm an average golfer, but the course was great. It's great they have 1/2 price tee times available. Watch out of Senior Blitzes, they could force you to speed up your game a bit.

Note, beverage cart services are only available on the weekend so come prepared if you golf during the week.

Always a good time

This course is always a challenge but it's very fair. Watch your shot placement on the approach. Consider hitting a lesser club than DRIVER on #1 or get WET. Fairways are in great shape and greens are good, but slow because of the heat (prob not cut short because of this hot weather). Good luck.

Club management

Legend Oaks will make you think. Sitting in a beautiful setting, almost romantic, but I came to play golf and while it was a nice distraction, I found myself thinking hard on a few of the shots: trees in the middle of the flight path, so do I go over, under layup, will it reach the water, do I fade around it? A lot of gators. Nicest people and to sit outside the club house to just enjoy the view added to the experience. Back to golf; greens were punched and sodded a little over a week ago, so it was a little bit off. One more week and everything will be perfect. Might be going back in a couple weeks when travel brings me back to Charleston. Oh, and the drive to the preserve, breathtaking.

First time playing with gators!

It was my first time playing Legend Oaks (with a friend from out of town). Weather was great; course was in good condition and seeing gators on the course was an added benefits for my out of town friend (Traveled from Minnesota to play)
