Pilgrim's Oak Review

The course has a layout that is challenging for the better golfer and forgiving for the less skilled. Each hole has a unique design and the challenges vary. Some holes challenge the player with length, others elevation changes, and still others with strategic bunkering and mounding. The greens were perfect. The views were spectacular and the hilly terrain meant there was a cooling breeze all day long. This course is truly a hidden gem.

Extraordinary Value, Beautiful Course

Course in beautiful condition, fairways, most tee boxes and greens in PRISTINE condition equal to the best in the mid Atlantic! Many of the greens are multi tier and can be tough on approach and if you're on the wrong level. Moderate speeds on greens today. Mostly generous fairways. Requires some shot making decisions off the tee and on approaches. Relatively short but visually STUNNING par 3's . Lots of course elevation changes and mounds in rough. Spartan food selection and pro shop. This is a MUST play in Mid Atlantic region!

Hot day of hittin.

Beautiful course. Very difficult. Be prepared to lose some balls if you dont hit em straight all the time like me. Hot as an oven out. Love being able to bring coolers. Thumbs up. Front desk guy could use some customer service classes. Groundskeepers were awesome working hard together very nice. Over all great day. Thanks.

We will be back definitely.

Perfect as always

This remains my favorite course in the Lancaster/York/Lebanon areas. The conditions were excellent, even more than normal. The course is always very challenging with sloping fairways and greens. Also many picturesque holes throughout the course.

Harder than I remembered

This was my second time playing Pilgrim's Oak and it had been a couple of years. I knew I liked the course the first time and I still recommend it highly, but it is far more difficult for an average player due to lots of elevation changes and greens which are harder to hit and hold than most courses.

If you can control your ball, you can have a pleasant round with plenty of challenge and reward for well-played shots. For some reason on a busy Saturday, the pin placement were RIDICULOUS, as if it was a competitive tournaments. Pins were tucked in corners, making approaches on uphill holes very confounding for club selection.

Overall, however, it's a gem for people who play regularly and I can imagine that people who play it often might consider it their favorite course.

Bad attitude towards Golfnow customers

Had to deal with someone at the desk who had a very bad attitude towards GOLFNOW customers.

He decided he was not going to honor the Golfnow price. It was the regular price, take it or leave it.

I had booked a regular tee time on Golfnow, NOT A HOT DEAL

I had a printed sheet showing all the details. Nope, it was his way or the highway.

Wish Someone would take the time to teach this man customer relationship.

BEAUTIFUL COURSE, A DELIGHT TO PLAY ..... THEN YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS SILLY MAN

Best bang for your buck

Pilgrims Oak is one of the finest courses in Southeastern PA. I can’t rave about enough and it’s a hidden gem. Yes it can be a little far from the Philly suburbs, but it’s worth it every time. I usually drive an hour to get out here and it’s one of my favorites in the area.

With a challenging design, every hole keeps you on your toes. This is not a “bomb the driver and a wedge in” mind of course. You’ll be using your full set of clubs. I’d highly recommend playing with someone who’s been here before, a few blind shot and undulating two tiered greens can be difficult for someone new here. The course is always very well taken care of. Greens are hard and roll fast, fairways are lush, rough is tall and how it should be in peak months. The only thing is the tee boxes could use maybe just a little work (especially on #1 and #2) but I can tell they are in the process of fixing them.

The best thing about this course is the price. Usually only $25-30 with a cart midday, can’t be beat for this quality (covid -19 might effect this). Most courses this well designed and maintained would cost $60+ In the surrounding area.

I can’t praise it enough people. I’d play here everyday of the week and be happy with it. Take the drive and come out to this beautiful place!

Great Course in Farm Country

In terms of quality in this area not many public courses can compete with Pilgrims. The course layout is friendly for golfers accurate off the tee but tall fescue lines the course to create a unique challenge. As you play through this course you will notice it plays true and the greens are typically fast and smooth. Course offers a good mix of length and skill as some holes require a second thought when you step on the tee box. I’ve played this course for years and it is by far my local favorite.
