Great Day At Stonebridge Photo submitted by Brian9256097 on 04/17/2018
Stonebridge la
Fairways were wide and green. Lower rating was because if the greens. All of them wetter in poor condition.
Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans - Championship Course.
Winter Golf in the South
Wintertime golf in the South is relatively the same all over. You can play golf all year here but prepare for less than stellar course conditions. This course has continued to work in the winter at getting their stuff together and in the spring I think as long as the greens hold together, the course might be in it's best shape in years. They choose not to overseed the greens, only doing the tee boxes, so the greens are sparse. And as is the norm, the course is damp and moist. Overall the course is in pretty good shape all things considered
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we appreciate you leaving us with your feedback. Thank you for playing Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans - Championship Course! We hope to see you again soon!
Great golf in Gretna!
Checking in to the clubhouse was easy, they will ask that you tee off close to your tee time and that is not a bad thing. This was my first time playing and it was awesome. Course was in great shape for this time of the year and I'll definitely return once the weather warms up. The layout is good and the holes are challenging especially since it's in a neighborhood. I was able to play fairly quickly due to the course being wide open. The clubhouse is really nice as well and the neighborhood.

A challenging links layout
Although the course was cart path only, it was still in good condition and the fairways were not that damp. Not much roll for your drives, but the greens were firm and rolled true. I had the course to myself and really enjoyed the chance to play a great course in New Oleans.
Thank you for your review! We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans - Championship Course. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Great value for the money
Stone ridge is in a very nice neighborhood. It provides a fun and challenging play for all levels of players. The green are in excellent condition. Some of the bunkers could use some fresh sand. But all-in-all, it's a great value for the money.
Construction Zone
There were a lot of areas of the course that were being "rebuilt." In fact, one hole was even closed to play. Holes were not clearly marked. All in all, it was an OK experience, but the price should have been lower, given the condition of the course.

The course is great
However the maintenance people who cut the grass are inconsiderate of the players. They were constantly on the greens when we were trying to pitch and putt.
Excellent layout
Great layout. Fast greens. Only negative thing is that 3 courses had ongoing construction and limited length.
Good value
We had pleasant 3 hr round. Moved along very nicely. Ran into a couple of closed tees, which was disappointing. The course has work being done, which it needs.
Not a top notch course, but it was a reasonable price and we had a relaxing round, so I gave it 4 stars.
Getting better everyday
Greens are still a little bumpy and some of the sand traps need to be worked.
Improvement in progress
They working on drainage, redigging the ponds and new grass on the new sprinklers
Progress
Getting better keep up the good work.
Played the course when it was redone years before katrina the greens rolled very smooth, now the ball bounces on the greens.
27 Holes!!!
Stonebridge is in really good shape. It is playable after the worst rain. What separates this course from the rest is having 27 holes. All 27 holes are good golf holes. Most important they are always doing something new to improve things. Today hole 2 was going thru major bunker work. A small inconvenience.
Hit or Miss
I’ve been scooping up hot deals at Stonebridge for as long as I can remember. My last round before today was over a year ago and I have recently seen rave reviews on the course so I went and played.
The Good: $20 weekday hot deals is a steal. To be honest there’s nothing special about the course but it does have a different style and feel than any other course around here. During the week you will pretty much have the course to yourself, I would say 85% of my rounds here (weekdays before noon) there is maybe 2-4other groups on the course. I’m a sucker for free range balls too which is included with the round. The staff has always been cool and I’ve never had any issues. I’m not sure of the progress of the “Harvey 9” but I did see people playing it today. It has been under construction for forever.
The Bad: I’m not picky when it comes to course conditions. This course in its best shape becomes one of the best values in the Nola area. However that is rarely the case and when it’s bad, it’s REALLY BAD. It might have the worst drainage system in the world. If it sprinkles for more than 10 minutes this course is doomed. It has been like that for as long as I can remember. And for the love of God please cut the grass. I didn’t hit one water ball but still managed to lose about 8 balls because of the flourishing jungle that is developing just a foot off the fairway.
At the end of the day it’s plenty good enough for me. It’s good cheap golf and no one ever bothers you which I love. I played 18 in less than 3 hours which is almost nonexistent these days. Definitely has potential but nothing has changed regarding improvements to the course like I’ve been hearing.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Your feedback about the price of our course is important to us. We always want to make sure we are offering golfers a competitive price for their round.
