Best Value for the Money in the Area
I’ve been playing here for years and it’s always been a well kept course for a cheap rate. It’s grown in popularity; so on the weekends/ holidays it gets crowded with long wait times on the course, but during the week there’s usually not many golfers & there’s no hold up. There’s a bar with food & beer (no liquor), driving range, putting green, but no chipping nor practice sand trap.
After a round, check out The Lighthouse Bar & Grill nearby on Lake Pontchrtrain at the Marina or The Munch Factory at the course which has great food as well.
One of the best public courses in New Orleans.
I usually play a round of golf ⛳ twice a week. My two favorite courses in NOLA are Joseph Bartholomew and Bayou Oaks/City Park South. As for the best value, Bartholomew wins hands down! After playing 18 holes I usually order a late lunch at the Munch Factory Creole Cafe which is located adjacent to the club house at Bartholomew. Both the service and the food are always excellent!
Bang for buck
This is one of the best courses for the price in the New Orleans area
Nice public course to play
Very friendly staff inside and outside. Range was closed "due to recent rainfall" so could not loosen up. Nice practice green for putting but no chipping allowed, even bump and run. On the course the fairways had not been cut recently and there was a mix of grasses and or weeds but still playable. The rough had a mix of stuff too and was also uncut probably because of the recent rainfall. The greens had recently been punched and sanded over but rolled well. I was just visiting the area and did not find New Orleans very appealing so most likely will not return but if I were a local or visitor looking for a decent and budget friendly golf course to play I do recommend it.
Despite the rain
Course is always in impeccable condition, despite the daily rains that have impacted the area. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful at all times! Highly recommend this course to everyone; great value for a challenging layout with well-manicured tee-boxes, fairways and greens! 5 STARS!
Had a great time at this course. Employees were nice and accommodating. Price was reasonable and fair. The restaurant connected to the clubhouse had great food! Whenever back in NOLA I'll play there again.
Great Value
Played this course for the first time, and it is a really good value for what we paid. Conditions are good, greens rolled well, but not blazing fast. Pace of play was a bit slow (fivesomes out there), but we still finished in 4 hours. I've paid more for worse courses, that's for sure. I'd be happy to go back.
Very nice
For the money you cannot beat this course. Nicely maintained, wonderful oak and cypress trees., and nice club house. More impressive is there are adding more amenities. Great city owned corse, Whoever runs this course should run the whole city.
Best Value around
My first time to play the course. I've played most courses in the NOLA area . This course is a great value. The Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape. The Marshall was actually keeping play at a good pace too. The grill made a great burger as well. I will be back .
Excellent condition
The course, tee boxes, fairways, and especially greens are always in impeccable condition! Sand bottles provided on carts to repair divots. Staff is extremely friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!!!
Too Many People Booked at Once
Large match group and several players saying the round was taking forever because of a group of about 60 playing a match and basically taking up the whole course while players who had paid for a round had to wait long times. Disorganized, water coolers not filled up on a very very hot day. No cart beverage service. Won't be back.
Great New Orleans golf course gem on this side of the river!
Great neighborhood golf course with plenty of parking, an excellent restaurant, and a great support staff. Course is well maintained. Never had any issues at the course, even the cart girl is friendly and respectful! I am from Chicago originally and most of my golfing buddies are still living there. I usually team up with other golfers so that I don’t have to play by myself. So far, all of the people who I have played with have been very cordial, and have given me some excellent golf tips, and recommendations on great places to eat and enjoy live music in New Orleans Louisiana, my new home. Loving it in New Orleans “baby”!
