Cobb's Glen Country Club

About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Decent track
Not a bad course for my first time playing. The greens could use a little more attention. There’s several ground under repair places throughout. The bunkers could use a sand upgrade.
Fun course in really good condition
Played 18 after 4 days of constant rain. As it was cart path only, the fairways and greens were well maintained. Thoroughly enjoyed the layout. My only negative would be that the cart paths are in desperate need of repair.
Fairways and greens were in good shape. Cart paths still need a lot of work. Solid course overall. About 4 hours 15 min. Wouldve been faster but a slow foursome wasnt letting people play through and holding multiple groups up. Didnt see a marshal
Had a great time
Had a great time probably cause I played better than usual. Course is great and in good condition. Could use some weed control. Greens were okay but probably will get better as summer gets on. Staff is great. Pace of play is encouraged to be fast so that’s always good.
Really coming along
I played Cobbs Glenn a month ago and came away disappointed in the course and it was my first time playing this course. This visit, spring has began to work her magic. The condition of the course is much improved and the upgrades the new management is making are beginning to show. My only gripe would be the mowing crew following on our heels the first 4 holes before we just stopped to let them pass. The hot deal price was more than worth it for this course. And after playing many of the local course, the lack of balls flying your direction was not missed, since this course flows in a way that has no side by side fairways.
Improving!
Clearly the recent ownership is having a positive impact. Much work being done to improve the aesthetics and playability of the course. The staff was outstanding to interact with from initial arrival all around the course with the maintenance crew.
Nice course design, but not in good shape
Nice course design. A few greens were not in good shape. Most tee boxes were not in good shape. Some of the cart paths were not in good shape and most were a long distance from the tee boxes and greens. May get better once spring green up happens.
Best local course great lay out huge greens well maintained
Greatest course I had a great time and shot a 82 my 3rd best round I can’t wait to play this again i
Really liked the course
Nice greens. Good conditions overall and a good variety in layout. Would definitely play again. Only knock is poor cart paths and outdated pro shop , but that doesn’t effect golf ! Definitely recommend
Good course but grounds crew needs lesson on golf etiquette
I understand that courses have to be maintained but the person started cutting the grass on the green of hole #1 when I was driving to my ball on the fairway.. he passed me, unloaded his mower and proceeded to cut the entire green while I was 30 yards out waiting to chip onto the green. I debated hitting anyway and he claimed he didn’t see me (I was very patient and waited 10 minutes for him to finish cutting) But then he did the same exact thing on hole 2 so I did hit onto the green after he was past the hole. I stayed in front of him until about hole 8 when I was walking to the green to putt and he pulls in front of me while I was walking to the green (8ft away from me). No golf etiquette. Can’t say I’ll be back.
New owner
Work was being done, but seems to be on the right track.
Cobb's Glen "Country Club"
Liked the course layout. Course was in decent condition although the greens looked to have some sort of fungus. Driving range currently being renovated so that wasn't available. Basic off course clubhouse setup. This can hardly be considered a country club that anyone would pay to be a member of. The pool, tennis, pickle ball area, has clearly been neglected for years and are all unusable. Clubhouse is basic and outdated.
Continues to improve
Most of the greens are in decent shape, but a few still need work. Very friendly staff.
