Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Multiple tee boxes allow for all levels of play.
It had rained the night before so the course was a little soggy and it was cart path only, but it is not very hilly, so that was OK. Greens had just been aerated, so they were bumpy, but in general they were in really good condition. Course was nice.
Course is in good shape wiyh updated greens.
Greens much improved over prior years. Play still somewhat slow with fivesomes allowed, and poor golf etiquette thrown in. Pro-shop staff very polite and accommodating hence slowplay with above. Would recommend this course if you have the time and with luck, you may "Play through".
Good Value
New greens are rolling well and in good shape. The rest of the course in good shape as well.
Pleasant experience
Nice place. Clubhouse and restaurant need attention but course and greens were good. Good layout. Nice mix of dog legs and challenging par 3s. Great lies, even in the rough. Some greens too steep of slope for pin locations. If you miss a 3 footer it may end up 15 feet away. Ball would stop until off the green or hit a low spot.
Clean and well kept. Greens were very fast. NICE!
The course was clean and well kept, especially concidering all the rain we have had in the past 3 weeks (14+ inches). The greens looked great, and were very fast. NICE!
Greens need a little work.
Everything about this course was good except for some spotty greens. There doesn't seem to be much play during the week. My wife and I finished the round In just over 2 hrs and 30 minutes and we weren't running. Great value and fun.
Great shape...super greens
Having not played the course in 10 years I found the course to be in great shape and well maintained. The bent grass greens were firm and true even with all the rain. Unlike most public courses, play was brisk and the course was aesthetically pleasing.
Rude Staff
Young lady working the desk tried to charge me $35 for a rider, and the two brothers working there were just jacks! Spoke rudely to myself and my guess on two seperate occasions until I went off on them!
The course has some really challenging holes .
The fairways were in great shape, cut and clean. Sand traps were somewhat lacking sand which made getting out difficult. Several greens had bare areas around the edges which made long putts roll bad. Water holes were placed so as to make second or third shots critical and precise.
Great layout
From the tips this is TOUGH! The course has seen better days. Greens are not receptive and they are slow. Hope money can be found to make improvements. I enjoyed the layout.
Great Value and condition
Playing this course was a pleasure and fun. It had some spots on greens that were being attended too but the overall condition was very good. I will go back again and soon. The greens, fairway and tees were very good and the greens were moderately fast which we really like. We would have finished quicker but were stuck behind some slower players for about 10 holes, as we were playing as a twosome. I would recommend this course to anyone! I rated the course maintained but it has been raining for several days so the tees and fairways, although good, had not been cut as normal and there were a couple of fairways that were cart path only due to the moisture still standing. this course would be pristine when cut close though!
Nice Course
Nice Course. Fairways and tees in great shape. A couple greens need some work. Had a great day.
good course for the price
Good layout. Clubhouse could stand an update. Greens putted true. Not enough sand in traps. Course generally appeared dry, unusual after all the rain we have seen. Will be interesting when summer heat hits. Would play again, especially for the price. Half what it costs to play Clemson course, and by Atlanta standards Clemson is cheap.
Good course to play!
Great day to play. Only problem was pace of play due to 5 some ahead of us.
A Must Play!
The potential to be an Excellent golf course. Can see work is being done. Get those bunkers and greens in SHAPE & Pristine is right around the corner!
Will be back!
Well maintained, challenging course
We showed up at the end of a tournament that was going on, so we did not get to start until about 30 minutes after our tee time was guaranteed. Other than that, the course well very well maintained and overall a pretty tough course. The back nine is full of water and trees, so you might want to leave your driver in the bag. I'll definitely play this course again, tho.
Great Round
Play here a few times and it is good every time. Clean course and well maintained. Sand traps were more like water hazards but it's been raining a lot so no biggie.
It's a really nice course
The green were in good condition considering all the rain we had the nite before. Also had to stay on cart path the whole way around the course. All the bunkers had a ton of water in them so you could'nt play them.I believe that without all the water.it would have been a better experience.
Great layout and greens
A really good value for the layout and condition. Look forward to playing this course again!
