Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

It's a really nice course
The green were in good condition considering all the rain we had the nite before. Also had to stay on cart path the whole way around the course. All the bunkers had a ton of water in them so you could'nt play them.I believe that without all the water.it would have been a better experience.
Great layout and greens
A really good value for the layout and condition. Look forward to playing this course again!
Considering the time of year...
The front greens were not horrible, but definitely not as good as the back. I talked to them about it and they didnt get the front greens redone last year in time for it to fully take yet. I am sure that by the summer, everything will be fine. (the back greens were really slick...)
Course was nice, not overly hard. For time of year was in good shape.
The clubhouse guy was very nice.
I was the first one out and by myself. I finished in about 2.5 hours, but I practiced a little bit since I was so alone and noone near me.
Overall, I would go back. I wouldn't jump up and down and tell everyone that they "have" to play the course, but it was nice and enjoyable.
love course, i need to learn lay short of flags, not on weekends
good course. play there often but not again on the weekends.there is no rangers to break up 5 or 6 ums. Had a 1:42 tee time got to tee at 1:38 and 6 foursomes or more waiting to go, they will take anybodies money, tee times dont mean anything. Finally teed off on hole number 1 at 2:27.
Excellent test of skills
This course was an excellent test of golf. Conditions wee excellent for winter golf. Pristine is probably a slight overstatement, but the alternative of requires attention is not applicable at all. Fairways and greens were both in very good shape. Fairways were dormant bermuda but still in very good shape. Greens were seeded for winter but very smooth and quick. Do not let the development course stigma scare you here as there is significant room between the homes and the course. It is a championship course.
The course played long as it was cold and we were playing the back tees. We found the course to be very challenging but fair. The fairways and specifically, the driving areas allowed for use of driver on many holes. The holes requiring a lay up were tight but very playable. The negative to the course was the inability to look off the tee and see a landing area. There were several holes (especially on the back side) which you could not see the landing area. However, we found obvious targets from the tee which put us into ample landing areas when the shots were hit on most holes. Once you have played the course and know the landing areas there would be no issue as they were very fair. However, there were a couple of holes where you could not see the group in front of you without driving up the path 50 - 100 yards to look down the hill.
We will go back and play again as it was an excellent test requiring distance, shot making and a good short game.
Ground under repair and a lot of rain water on course
Lots of ground under repair. Rain prior to our round so it was cart path only. The course held a lot of water in areas, bunkers 1/2 full of water, fairways saturated. Greens OK, Fairways rough, and rough was soaked.
Do not book early tee times, as no one is at the course until about 7:45 - 8.
Overall, course was OK. Cheap golf, layout straight forward, and not a lot of traffic in the AM.
Cobbs Gllen, always a fun round of golf.
I recommend Cobbs Glenn for anyone wanting a fun day of golf. A good mix of some easy and difficult holes holes. Typically better than average conditions of fairways, rough and greens. We played December 15th. and the fairways were dormant. However, perfect lies and long drives (well, longer than I am used to) all over the place. I look forward to my next round at Cobbs Glenn.
Nice course
The staff was super friendly and the course was in good shape. I would like a more challenging course but this one was fun.
Back Nine Greens
Cobb's is an excellent local layout. Denton and Wade are great guys and they make guests feel as welcome as members. As promised by Wade, the back nine greens were incredible, true, and quick. The front nine greens are less than perfect but will not detract from your round. Value? Awesome! We played for 25.00 each on GolfNow! Again, a great local layout.
