Cobb's Glen Country Club
About
Cobb's Glen Country Club is named after its designer, George Cobb, a Georgia native who lived in Greenville most of his life. He designed many golf courses in the South, including the par-3 course at Augusta National. The golf course sprawls across rolling terrain blanketed with mature forests. Opened in 1976, the layout may be more traditional than modern golf courses but it still presents one of the area's most formidable challenges. The course has hosted a variety of events over the years including the U.S. Open Qualifier and the South Carolina Amateur Championship. There are 90 bunkers strategically placed throughout, and the greens are lightning fast. The 11th is one of the most memorable holes. This par 3 plays over water to a triple-tiered green that is flanked by three bunkers on the right, one for each tier.

Not too shabby
Overall it's a ok course. The greens on the front side need work. The run pretty fast. They don't have ball creamers at all an on the back on one of the holes the cart path just ends.
Old school!
Enjoyable layout in good condition. Greens were challenging/inconsistent... But not sure if that was their problem or mine! Looking forward to trying the back tees next time.
Love this course
Course was in great condition. Had a good time, but at the turn we went into the clubhouse to get some snacks. We waited for about 10 minutes and no one came to help use. Luckily we had a cooler with drinks.
I like Cobbs Glenn
I chose to play Cobbs Glenn because of the value for the money. I had won a round for 4 at another course but when I found out it was just green fees and that the cart fee was $20 I cancelled my foursome's tee time and bought a hot deal on Golf Now at Cobbs Glenn which is a better course.
Our only problem was the 5 ft black snake we let cross the #4 tee box that had been to the pond for water.(#4 was my only birdie) #14 could use some work.
#9 and 18 are tough finishing holes for my game. (Bogey on both)
Classic layout in very good condition!
Cobbs has been one of my favorite courses in SC with it's rolling fairways and greens. I particularly enjoy the back nine as it is a little more difficult than the front. The staff is very friendly and I will be back to play there soon!
this course has what you need
this course has everything you need and at a great price plan on coming back very soon.
Nice value
I played 4 different courses in the area and this one was the better of the four. They have 4 tee blocks so it can be as challenging as you want. I don't know if it was the time of the year but I disagree with many of the reviews about green speed. I found these greens to play slow. That is my only negative comment. There is a variety of holes that make it a lot of fun to play. I will play this again.
I did not try the food or beverage so I did not rate.
Excellent condition
Prior to my last visit, I hadn't played the course in at least four years. I remembered the overall condition of the course as being poor for what you paid to play. At the time, the greens were drying out with crabgrass growing everywhere, but I caught a $19 hot deal and couldn't resist giving it another try.
The crew at Cobb's Glenn have really stepped up their game. The course is in incredible condition. The greens were some of the best conditioned I've ever played. The fairways were well taken care of. It was just an absolute shock. I was very pleased.
The course seems to play deceptively long with plenty of challenging blind shots and dog legs, but I most enjoyed the many wide open fairways that allows you to just "let the big dawg eat." Greens are challenging as a few have false fronts that are round killers and others are decent sized that will leave you two or more putts out if you're not accurate.
The only complaint is that the yardages weren't always clearly defined (100, 150, 200), but it's nothing that won't keep me from coming back.
Our pace of play was ridiculous only because of the two my buddy and I were paired with. I believe the course can play 4 hours or less fairly easily.
Highly recommend! Good job!
Great Golf Course
Enjoy playing Cobb's Glen, traps definitely need work and sand. Greens are hard and needing water.
Solid choice.
Trying to find a course for me and a buddy to play in a unfamiliar area we found cobbs Glenn was better then expected. Really liked the greens staying true and the difficulty just right. Had some water shots, dog legs and blind shots to green but open area allowed to find your ball easy. Was honestly surprised to find course in good of a shape as was and price reasonable for July 4 weekend.
Golf day
Course looks great and the conditions matched. Greens smooth and fast. Definitely will be back.
course is in great shape
It was extremely hot and humid (but it was 11:00) but the water coolers had plenty of cold water. Staff was friendly. I highly recommend this course.
Cobbs Glenn
Great long course with excellent greens, and a very friendly staff
Birthday Round
Took my Father-in-law out for a birthday round. Pace of play was slow, but not unexpected for a mid-morning round on a Saturday. Greens were quick and course was in decent shape. On a hot day, there could have been more coolers with water on the course since there is no food/beverage cart. Overall it was nice and I will come back. Staff was friendly.
Excellent Course
Excellent all the way around, would play again. Well worth the money.
Greens
This course is one of the best designed courses in the Upstate. It's a shame that it's in the condition that it's in. The greens are in TERRIBLE shape and the tee boxes aren't much better. Again, the layout is fantastic but the condition is awful!
Decent
I really liked the layout and thought it provided a nice balance between tight holes & challenging club decisions. A few wide open holes, some water, and elevation changes. Fairways were above average, greens were fast but average (some were great & others had problems (bumpy, ground under repair, etc.)) No snack bar (was Sunday morning) all they had was a soda machine and old box of cheese crackers (eat ahead of time or pack some snacks.) There was at least cold water on the course! I will play there again, esp when looking for a practice round.
Course is not good
Greens are extremely dry and hard. I hit a high shot into one with a 6 iron and the ball bounced almost as high as the flag stick, no joke. Fairways are dry and hard . The sand traps actually have little pebbles in them and are a brownish color. I believe this course may be better if it was watered. Actually had to wait on older people from the community as they were riding in their carts coming up the cart paths while we were waiting to tee off on some holes, this was annoying.
Diamond in the riff
The course layout is both beautiful and challenging. The speed of play was slow due to some hackers that lacked proper golf etiquette. It would have been nice if they had allowed us to pass though. Looking forward to going back very soon .
