Great price and course
Really nice course and price. Greens are in great shape but challenging.
Course needs a little care
I don’t mind this course because there is usually no one there and it’s easy to move through. The course needs some care but they have improved the greens a lot. The price I believe should be a little lower due to the conditions. For a quick round to move through and not worry about slow people in front I like this course.
Boulder Oaks did not disappoint - course is improving
I have been coming to Boulder Oaks for several years. This course used to be a place where you could play for $35, but over the years, golf courses in San Diego County have gotten expensive. The owners are finally investing in the course. After buying new carts a few years ago I see marked improvement in the conditions. The greens were amazing compared to the past and I can see they are taking care of the grounds. Look forward to playing again.
CONDITIONS!
Hello viewer. Boulder Oaks is an interesting course to say the least. One thing right out the box is that the website is way out of date, especially the scorecard. It is indeed a 19 hole course, but they only have about 2 black tee boxes not roped off and available to play off of, and given that the course is only 6300 at max from black, you do lose a lot of distance on the course. (Plays max about 5800). The layout if this course is challenging, and the greens and fairways were in good condition. However, the conditions on everywhere except the greens and most fairways was brutal. Dirt everywhere, dusty unpaved rickety cart paths, and sometimes in the rough it was like hitting on concrete. The course if kept in better shape would be challenging and a great course for the money, but the conditions of the course unfortunately made it feel like a goat track. But, the service was good! The people who checked us in were friendly and helpful. I overall wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone who likes a cured golf experience, but for the average Joe looking for cheap golf with some buddies, this course is just fine!
Challenging course but a bit rough for the price
Boulder Oaks is located in a beautiful area and the views were awesome. Course is challenging and enjoyable. That being said, when comparing the price per round on how much you pay for other local courses, I think that the upkeep would be better. Course was pretty rough in spots and could use some TLC from the grounds crew
Great course. Layout has changed since I was last here. Greens and fairways were in great shape. Staff was very friendly. Marshall/cart worker was cool. Super laid back place. It’s not arrowwood or links…. Cart paths are a little rocky on some holes and you can get lost as the paths kind of crossover each other on some holes. Several tee boxes were roped off, possibly under repair. No cart girl. but for 55 bucks with a cart… can’t beat it. If you want to work on your game and not have to worry about pace of play or the course being over crowded this is a great course, like I said greens and fairways were great. 55 bucks for a 12:30 tee time on a Friday. Would recommend
Fun Layout but a bit rough
The staff were all really good: helpful and very friendly. Great value for money; this is obviously not one of the higher end courses but it was very playable and a great walking course if you don’t mind hills. It was a damp day when we played so we had no one ahead or behind us. It’s an executive course with lots of par 3 holes but the 4’s and 5’s required you keep it more or less straight. Wet weather and some wind had it playing a bit longer and that was ok. Exceeded my expectations for the price.
great for practice
this is definitely a course for the common people. course conditions aren’t the best but you can still hit off fairways and roll in your putts on solid greens. Variety of holes are definitely challenging and fun. Great place to go with your buddies and none of this pish posh behavior. Definitely come over and have fun
Love this spot, especially for the cost!
Really a fun course. One of the best kept secrets in San Diego. Easy to get on, nice greens. $1 beer with your reciept after the round. I like taking my kids here and my friends. Great value. Owner couldn’t be cooler
Good day
Upon arrival we found out the course offered a deal that was much better than the "great deal" on Golnow. We would have saved $25 using the course deal (same price as golf now PLUS a free golf cart). The greens were in good shape and extremely fast. Twosomes were the norm and we never had to wait. Tee boxes could use some help as they were bumpy and had bare patches. The fairways also could use some grass. BUT with the pace of play and the deal through the course we will return.
