Chief’s El Rio Review
We had a good round on a Sunday afternoon. Play was a little slow but we’re retired so it doesn’t bother us. Course was in good condition… We will play El Rio again. It
El Rio Golf
Greens were in terrible shape… bathrooms where closed no running water……city golf courses are terrible in Tucson !!!
Very low end golf course.
Pace of play was horrendous, took over 3 hours to play 9 holes. We didnt even finish our round of 18 as we were so incredibly frustrated. Marshall's were stacking players and not enforcing pace. Layout causes you to backtrack on the hole you just played and right in line of fire of other players. Not recommended at all. Will never go again
You get what you pay for
El Rio is very flat but somewhat forgiving. You need to be wary of golfers on other holes, as balls can come flying from everywhere. No Marshall to speed up the slow groups. Avoid playing on the weekend or expect a 4.5-5 hour round.
NO management of pace of play
Our front group was super slow during the hole course, we gave up playing after 14th hole

I at times will get the hot deals on the Golf Now App, the only thing that really got me upset was the amount of people the course booked every tme i go.... im always waiting over 15 minutes on each whole for people to play, or waiting for my swing. It is way over booked, that has to stop its not even enjoyable anymore ive stopped going because i take 4-5 hours to finish the course..
Good AZ muni
The fairways and greens were in very good shape and
finished the round in a little over four hours. Only complaints were the golf cart was a little jerky when
starting and they could use some more paved trails
on the back nine.
Nice little muni course
Only course I could book at a late date on Golf Now,
but the starter got me out early(even though they had a2 hr frost dealay) And got around 18 holes less tha 4 hours
on the weekend. They treat you right on the Tucson munis!
Great shape really liked the over seeding keep up the good work
