Carts a little old and do not function very well
Staff was friendly, and made sure pace of all players was steady.
Course has hard greens to stay on.
If I wanted to play on a dead grass couse, I would play Santa Rita. If you want to make money don`t run the down.
terrible condition
The city should find a private buyer for this course. It's obvious
by the present condition of the course that they want to get rid of it.
Great golf for the money.
Course is fun but challenging. Nearly all greens are guarded by front sand traps and are quite small. Greens putted well and the fairways were adequate.
If the city is going to shut down a course, my choice of the one to close is "sandpan" Silverbell. If the dust doen't kill you, the sewer smell will.
Course was great for the price.
The prices have gone up for this time of year but if you can lock onto a good deal it is worth it.
Good layout for city course.
This course is short and pretty wide open, but really is a pretty good layout for a city course. Has very good greens for a city course. Obviously, needs water and maintenance to improve it's overall playability and appearance. Has some good par-3's and two good par-5's.
will play again
plays to slow will play again have to lower price till course is better
GOOD TRAPS, TINY GREENS, CHALLENGING
NEEDS TO GREEN UP , COURSE SHOULD BE WATERED , NOT DRENCHED , WATER LAYING IN SAND TRAPS , & HUGE BEAVER PELTS DUE TO OVER WATERING.
More difficult than it appears, friendly staff
Friendly staff, more difficult than it appears, needs some additional maintainence
OK
Not a bad experience but the lack of overseeding on the fairways left much to be desired
good distance- flat - walkable- with chalange
had a good time-- friendly players on course--enjoyed the
weather and veiws
course was really in decent shape. greens held
Sorry to hear it may be closing. Our foursome had a good time, pace of play was decent...4hrs. Fairways a bit blotchy, but bump here and there and it was fine. Priced well.
Thought the course was in terrific condition.
Play was slow due to Randolph & Dell Urich courses being overseeded. Don't know why more people don't use this course.
This course is useless.
This course is a goat pasture. It is not taken care of: there is absolutely no provision for fixing divots in the fairway. The greens are rock hard and will not hold even the best lob shot. There is discussion about closing this course--since it is not taken care of at all, the closure is probably a good idea. I personally will never play this useless course again. The City of Tucson should be ashamed. It has left an average course at best go to seed.
good price but they schedule people on top of each other
Good piece and nice course . I have been here three times and the only negative thing I can say is they schedule people way to close and maybe on too of each other . We arrive on time each tee time , and find that there is groups checking in at the same time and many others just getting going ahead of us . It causes a huge traffic jam ...and people end up getting mad at each other( actually had someone go and tell the club house that my group way laying this ..yet there way at least 5 groups of people in front of us waiting to tee off also ...some middle aged man said thin to try and get us tossed off our tee time so he could go , the people in charge was polite yet the man and his child still kept yelling and making threats and they did nothing to stop them or ask them to leave .)
Just have patience if you plan to play here
staff involvement
the staff should be more involved to clear up bottlenecks due to slower players and a lack of awareness they are stacking up groups behind them. My cart died on hole 3 and after calling the pro shop for a replacement nobody ever responded. The starter seemed more interested in swatting flys with his flyswatter than customer service.
Carts are a problem
They didn't have enough carts to keep the tee times on schedule and the cart we did get 30 minutes late was in poor condition.
I recommend walking.
Course hasen't changed since our last visit 6-8 months ago
Fairways somewhat rough, greens ok, the body of water between 5th and 6th holes is disgusting and always has been.
Starter friendly, cashier a little grumpy. The female cashier is very welcoming always but wasn't at the register this day though she was there. This place needs a serious makeover.
Great Public Course
Very open and well maintained for a public course. For the money I will go back.
