El Rio Golf Course

I am a novice golfer and I really enjoyed this course. I have played on other courses in Az and did not like them as much.

The extreme amount of sand bunkers made it challenging. 90% of the course was dead grass which made it confusing on where the next hole was. We will not return here.

this course has a lot of history to it. It is too bad that the city can't take better care of it. they did not overseed the fairways and the greens were very bumpy with alot of grass missing. the golf carts are very old. you end breathing alot of fumes. but i like playing the course, i hope that the city will start taking better care of it.

The course has been "let go" by the City. Could be a good track for moderate to high handicappers. Good walking course.

Played on 2/23/13, fairways were dry, looked like they havent been watered in weeks. Greens were really green and clean. No rangers on course, 4-some in front of us were slower than molasses. Which made a 4 hour round of golf 5 hours! I know this facility is closing but at least make it playable for the price.

Course is in terrible condition. Fairways are dry and yellow and greens not much better. This course used to be nice, but lack of care and attention makes it a poor value. Will not play this course in the future.

Do not play this course!!! The staff is awful and not accommodating at all. I didn't even play because of how rude they were.

Speed of play was excruciatingly slow. There is no way this golf course should play 5 hours. There are 2 starters. maybe one of them could ride around the course once in a while. The 4some in front of us had 3 holes open in front of them all the way around. And they parked in front of the green so we had to wait for them to clean their clubs and load up before moving the cart.

This course is in no way the most challenging, but for the cost you really can't find a better kept municipal course in city limits.

Course is a lot of fun, but it is difficult to tell were the fairway ends and the rough begins. There is almost no difference between the two. The bunkers are among the best in Tucson. Unless they are wet, the club can get under the ball without breaking your wrist.

Absolutely NEVER going back ! There was no grass on the fairways. The cart died on us twice. Beverage cart showed up on the 17th hole. Sand traps had standing water not sand.

I couldn't tell where the dirt started and fairway ended, needs some serious help or close it down. tight fairways.

A mix of holes lengths. Several dog legs to contend with, both left and right.

Course is the worse course in Tucson. Ni grass, no watering, tee boxes bad, mounds of dirt all over course created by sime animal, greens were bumpy, slow, and just plain ugly. We paid $24 and that was too much. Will never go back again. Sand traps were mainly dirt loosened up. Either fix it up or shut it down. Have played on courses in at least 6 states and this on is the worse.

Paid $36.00 with a residence card. The course was in bad shape. The fairways were dormant and too much hard pan. Some greens were not very good. Have been told that this city course is scheduled to be shut down. Perhaps this is why the course was in such bad shape. Price should have reflected the condition of the course. I would venture to say the price should have been more like $15 to $20 at best.

i won't go back until they get some grass and the sand traps have sand. the fairways were terrible

This faiway & green needs more improving condition.

I really enjoy playing there it's easy to walk and every hole is accessible.

If this course was in good condition it would be fun to play. Presently it has no grass in the fairways and the greens were bumpy.

Opted for the cheapest weekend golf available and got just that.
Very little grass on the fairways. Greens/ greenside/ bunkers were fine though
