John
Course was in above average condition. Greens were excellent, smooth and moderately fast well cut, and well tended.
Punishing if you missed by more than 10-15 feet as there is not much Grass around the greens. Fairways are in great shape but if you miss and there are some that are hard to hold (#17) not much to hit out of. Bunkers were average, better than most other muni's in town.
Price was VERY reasonable. Could use more staff to help those groups who do not know how to keep pace and play ready golf or off a tee box appropriate for their handicap. Tough course with the wind. fun.
Great course
Great value for the money… grerns are in great condition. I wish it could be a par 72 course.
Great Value!!!
Underrated city course, currently in great shape.
Pace of play was very good and you can't beat the price for afternoon winter golf
Soft
The course looked good but it seemed to over watered. I had to wipe mud off my ball several times.
Played 18 holes as a single
I played 18 holes in a little over 3 1/2 hours. Several groups in front of me let me play through and I had a great time!
long round
Course was in good shape. Greens were really great. However the twosome in front of us were 2 holes behind the threesome in front of them by the 4th hole. the twosome behind us skipped a hole to get in front of them. We were able to play through them on the 8th hole. the back nine was okay. Saw no rangers on the course.
Hasn’t changed much…
Newly renovated bar area is nice (took over a year). Rained the day before play, so course was sloppy. Friendly staff, ramshackled carts, cart paths almost 4wd. Greens best part of experience, receptive and smooth. Some bunkers lack sand. The worse part is pace of play and balls flying seemingly everywhere but were they should be. Any ball played is fair game to be picked up (look what I found).
Decent layout, last 4 holes especially good. Not the best Tucson city has to offer, but worth a play in a pinch.
Fun round of golf
The course is long and the cart paths could use a bit of TLC. The fairways, tee boxes, and greens were in good shape. The other guys that played in the threesome were friendly and easy to talk with. I'll definitely play there again!
Recommendation
Almost all sand traps had shoe prints and divots that had not been raked out. Might suggest to staff to remind players at sign in to rake traps as a courtesy to following players. Thanks
Silverbell Mud Hole
This course was re-designed in 2006...and the designer screwed up on drainage. Rain the morning of play turned that course into a mud bath...we had an older person with us and they had no handicap flags as they were stolen they said, no 90 degree rule and walking from cart path to your ball h back could be 100 yards...it was ludicrous and the starter that morning was not helpful or customer oriented at all
Pace of play
3 walkers and a cart who teed off 3 groups ahead of us at fell a hole behind and no consequences for them just us waiting on every shot.We could see them and they hax no pace.
Fun round of golf
The course was in good condition, with over seeded fairways and greens. The green fairways were nice to hit from. Some of the cartpaths are in need of some TLC, and sand traps need refreshing, but overall it was a fun round of golf.
Enjoyable Round
Overseeding pretty good (fairways), greens very good. Some attention needs to paid to irrigation leaks. Quite a few areas were pretty wet from what was apparently a leak.
Cart paths could also use some attention.
