Avila Beach Golf Resort

Greens where nice, great layout. Fairways need work. Not great Maintanance. Tough layout but definitely worth it. Challenging all clubs came into play.

Very challenging course. Played the Blue's, driving strait and some course knowledge is important for doglegs, creeks and water holes. Greens putted well and consistent. I had to add a club or two on account of the uphill approaches and the headwinds. Played as a single and finished in 4 hours. 6500 yards, very nice.

Very friendly staff. Nice course with many different holes. No two holes were the same. Greens were good. Great views to the water on several holes.

Course had a good layout and could really test your skills. Lots of dog legs and helps if you had a playing partner that has played the course. Overall, we all had a great time considering we were all hacking today. loL

Hadn't played this course in a couple years. Got a deal on golfnow.com. Could be a really fun course but the owner doesn't keep it up. Worth what I paid, $26, but not more. The restaurant/bar was very nice. People were nice and helpful but in the end the course doesn't compete well with others in the area.

Great challenging course to play. Close to the ocean.

Great course with beautiful scenery. The first 9 holes are rough for beginners for sure. The only complaint was the kart paths were horrible.

Love the canyon and fresh water arroyo and ocean views.

Avila Beach golf resort was a wonderful course to play.

First time playing here. Had been told that course conditions had really slipped in recent year and it was no longer the jewel it once was, but I was in area to play other courses and got a great $19 deal to play after 3 pm.

The stories were true.

The Good--> interesting layout with a few very small greens which were mostly in good condition. Plenty of blind shots so a first-timer is going to lose some strokes just not knowing where to aim. The Bad--> plenty of resort hackers who don't know or care about etiquette make for very slow golf. I must have fixed 10 fresh ball marks on some greens.

Even more upsetting though, the fairways and green aprons were comparable to an average muni on my visit. Whether lack of water or poor fertilizer choice or their maintenance crew is vastly understaffed, I don't know. But it is a shame an obviously great design is left to get this ragged.

I will return to play here (a) early in morning before the course is packed and (b) only if I get another under-$40-rate per round unless (c) I hear that the course conditioning is back up to "good" or better.

Very nice course and they have to tee times spread out to help with the social distance which is nice. The whole area in general is already beautiful and the course adds its own flavor to the Cove. Will definitely be back soon

1-23-2021 was my first time playing this beautiful course. First on many more to come. I really enjoyed the Scenery and the difficulty level of it, even tho I’m a beginner golfer

The day was beautiful, up couldn’t ask for better weather. My Tee time was at 2:08pm and somehow I managed to play all 18! Front 9 where a little slow but luckily a group allowed me to play thru... Thank you Gentlemen!

The first two holes were unbelievable! It began to rain so hard as I was on the 1st Tee... A passing rain storm tested my concentration on first 2 holes. 2nd hole hailed on me right at the Tee lol ..How much nicer can it get!? A lot! What an Experience
