Sea Pines Resort
Walked the Blues (2002/29.7/95.0) in 2H early afternoon. $14 to walk nine holes on a Sunday afternoon. Played with Cal Poly SLO recent graduates Garret and Lindsay, very pleasant 2some to be matched with. Breezy, clear and in the 70's made for a nice stroll.
I may well be the first person in history to play Sea Pines Golf Resort the same week they played Pebble Beach Golf Links. Those 2 courses are about as far apart as you can get on the golf course spectrum. This course is close to Costco and I wanted get in a few swings, perfect.
Had played here once before, so knew what to expect. Executive par 31 layout. You have two par 3's to start, then four medium to short par 4's, then finish with three par 3's, two of which are over 200 yards. Has some fun holes with a couple of lakes to play over or around, not a complete push over. Playing conditions were about as expected.
Tees really chewed up even for an executive/par 3 course. Many are crowned and did not look like any divots had been repaired in a good while.
Fairways and rough both a mixture of grasses with decent coverage, winter thin.
There are no sand traps on this course.
Greens putted medium speed and had a decent amount of ball marks. Firm, I actually made more than my share of putts, so I should not complain.
Couple I was with took a cart with was upgraded with nice GPS. No on course services. Well stocked, small pro shop that had a very friendly attendant who was your starter/cart person and guy behind the counter. Restaurant on site had a bunch of people eating outside. Nice views of Morro Rock and Morro Bay on several holes.
Rough around the edges, but if you do not have unrealistic expectations, could be a fun round. Recommended with that in mind.
Great family vibes!
We had a great day at Sea Pines!
It was breezy which made the course much more challenging. It is a super chill and relaxing place to play golf. The weekly concert was taking place the afternoon we played, so hole 9 was closed, but we were told to replay #7 which completes a loop back to the clubhouse. Our greens fees got us each $1 off a beer after the round so we stuck around to enjoy the music a bit.
The course was in good condition and the greens were soft, quick, and consistent. Great views and an interesting layout, combined with the added challenge of the wind made it a memorable round with my family. I highly recommend this course for the bogey + golfer or anyone looking to have a quick, fun, and senic round in the Los Osos area.
Enjoyable round
This is my first time playing the course. I really enjoyed playing this course. It was an overcast day not overly chilly. The course was in good shape and flow of play was good, no waiting for the people in front of me. I recommend this fun shorter layout course and it is a great value. I will be back next time I'm in the area to play again.
Great, interesting, fun 9 hole course
Excellent value (<$10 for9). Easily walkable. Nice greens, mediocre fairways. Some challenging carries and hazard placement. All par 3s and 4s, but decent length on all holes. Helpful, friendly staff and fellow golfers. Nice bar, with good food and reasonable. I'd love to play again! My wife too. But if you can't carry 40-80 yes over water or waste/bushy areas, you may lose a lot of balls.
Sea Pines
Walked the Blues (2002/95.0/29.7) in 1.5H on a GN "Hot Deal" for $14.49 after fees. The weather was clear, breezy and around 65.
Par 31 Executive nine hole course. 1 medium length par 4, 3 short par 4's and a good combination of par 3's ranging from 102 - 203 yards.
Tees were pretty chewed up, good coverage but well below average overall. Lots of unfixed divots, and there was no divot mix provided to repair anything.
Fairways and Rough had good coverage and were mowed down. Both were decent to play from.
There are no sand traps on this course.
The smallish greens were mediocre. Medium speed, firm and fairly bumpy.
Small pro shop, the course is partnered with a lodge/resort. Flat, easy to walk. While no holes play right at the water, you go have some nice ancillary views of Morro Bay and Morro rock. Decent layout with some fun holes, just a little rough around the edges from a maintenance perspective. Not a destination course, but if you are already close by, worth a play if you desire a shorter course. $14.49 is a bit high to walk this course.
The course was a nice time. The staff was exceptionally friendly. We will definitely be returning.
nice day by the bay
nice fairways great greens fairly tough layout for mostly a par 3 course. will play it again plus great value
Very Nice
Most 9 hole courses seem to be in poor conditions but this is the exception. Beautiful course with great views of Morro Bay and the Dunes. Was also pleasantly surprised about several 4 par holes with some challenge. I would definitely play here again and it was a great price.
Links at Paso Robles
Greeted by the most friendly pro shop worker ever, course is a challenge and good layout, always enjoy it
Sea Pines course
Beautiful corse and views. Lots of par 3's and 4''s with no 5's. Enjoyable.
Did know what to think!
I had no idea what I was going to encounter with this golf course because I found it on golf now by accident. My family and I take a week long camp and surf trip every year in the area of the course. Never knew about the course. When I found it on golf now and the price was a super great deal, I thought to myself, there's probably a catch to the reason why it's so cheap to play. Boy, was I ever wrong, the course was a whole lot better than I ever expected and staff in the pro shop was extremely welcoming. When I'm back in the area I will definitely going to play there again. It's a 9 hole course with an amazing amount of challenges on the several fairways, several par 3, and a driver is optional on several holes which if driven straight enough the green can be reached. The greens are in great shape with plenty of challenges themselves as well. There is a small range so you can warm up before play. I'm sold and it has to be one of the best 9 hole course I've ever been on.
9in Heaven
This was one of the best 9 hole courses in California. Having played all over the state, I had to play it twice. Holes, 3&4 were the most fun to play ,back to back, had to use a little strategy.
I will be looking to play again, on my next trip to, SLO county.
A great value at a hidden little seaside gem
Played here with my new bride on our honeymoon. We were running late and called pro shop to ask for a possible later tee time. No problem, he moved us back an hour. The pace was wide open and the greens were in good shape as were most of the fairways. The location is beautiful and I would call it a bargain based on the views of the bay below the course. With some local course knowledge this place would be a hoot to play. We will be back I'm sure. It was a Monday in the off-season so your experience may differ than ours.
Fun day in Los Osos
Really fun course. Lost a few balls in he drink, but great day close to Morro bay with enough challenge to make it interesting!
Sea Pines is a blast
This is a fun short course with a little more teeth than you might expect. The par 4s are short but tricky, and the par 3s are all longish except 1st hole. Still a good place to shoot a decent score. The greens take some learning.
Sweet
Loved playing this course very nice. I will play here again and again
Shhhh it's my secret spot
Best little 9 hole around, always get on, staff super friendly !
