This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Great course
Overall the course is in great shape tee box’s we’re super fairways were good shape bunkers had very good sand greens were a little too fast but they were really in great shape I loved the course
The Course has a charming erdonality
The course was excellent with Regard to the layout and strategy of play.The pace of play was also good due to the average skill of the golfers playing on my particular day. .
Solid course
Play on a Saturday with the guys. It was our first time time playing and we will definitely be back. Greens were rolling very good. Only negative was that our cart died on hole 7 and we were calling for a while before someone answered the phone at the pro shop. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back.
Beautiful layout. Hidden Gem
Great price for a beautiful course. Great layout especially the back nine. Marshall needs to be vigilant about pace of play. Had only one group in front and they held up everyone after.
Breezy and not too easy
Better bring your short game or you will be playing ping pong on the greens all day long

Not the norm
I have played here 10 times now in the past couple months. I love this course greens amazing, lay out challenging. I know with covid other courses still have a cart person going around. It would make things so much better to have snacks, food, drinks at course to consume.
Cart fees
The person I play golf with has a wife with serious auto immune system problems and I was charged an additional $20 for a cart fee and was told by a could care less employee who said “hey I only work here” then he told me all the golf courses are charging the car fee. I play several courses in the area and they are very understanding and do not charge an additional cart fee. Please let people who book on Golf Now, or by phone about the additional cart fee. I will not return anytime soon. Enjoy the extra $20 you made from me in these difficult times.
Course in very good conditions.
Overseeded and punched greens on October 20 and played on Nov 13 course is in very good shape. The greens are 9/10...another week and they will be pure. The greens are still way better than 90% of all other courses out there. The fairways are perfect. The rough around the greens are very lush and penalizing. The only thing that needs work are the tee boxes.
