This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

Cart fees
The person I play golf with has a wife with serious auto immune system problems and I was charged an additional $20 for a cart fee and was told by a could care less employee who said “hey I only work here” then he told me all the golf courses are charging the car fee. I play several courses in the area and they are very understanding and do not charge an additional cart fee. Please let people who book on Golf Now, or by phone about the additional cart fee. I will not return anytime soon. Enjoy the extra $20 you made from me in these difficult times.
Course in very good conditions.
Overseeded and punched greens on October 20 and played on Nov 13 course is in very good shape. The greens are 9/10...another week and they will be pure. The greens are still way better than 90% of all other courses out there. The fairways are perfect. The rough around the greens are very lush and penalizing. The only thing that needs work are the tee boxes.
this course is somewhat good layout
we played this course before condition is the same but the green is slow because they just punch the green maybe 3 week ago. should better after 2 more week.
A pleasant surprise
The course was inn excellent shape for the fairways to nearly perfect greens. One of the best values for a highly rated golf course.
Must play
By far one of the best courses in area. I will definitely make the drive again from Fontana. What a great test of golf and beautiful views.
Golf
Enjoyed my round of golf! Again! This was the second time playing the course. Just need to trim the long grass around the tee box. You can loose a ball at the tee box.
Very interesting breaks on the greens
Tee boxes some needs attention but most where good, fairways excellent and greens,perfect.bunkers not so good but overall great experience will play again.
A bit of a slow round. Greens were still.a bumpy from over-seeding process.
Great Course
Definitely a course that makes you think about your next shot. Shot selection is 90% of the success on this course. Not a course for beginners! Fairways, greens, rough all in great shape.
Layout is great
Like most have said the tee boxes were chewed up but not horrible. Pace of play was great. Fairways were really good. Greens were in good shape with minimal unrepaired pitch marks (repair your divots). Starter was nice. Drive very far to play this course because of the experience/course conditions. Definitely recommend this ballpark!
