This course used to be considered a hidden gem. Now, Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont is an off-the-beaten-path known reasonable joy. Stopping on the way from Los Angeles to Palm Springs for a golf detour is no fool's play. Not with the fast greens, dramatic elevation changes and swerving fairways available at Oak Valley in Beaumont.
A Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley design, Oak Valley is probably best known for greens that are anything but desert typical. Speed is the name of the game here, with a tap sometimes too much on a downhill putt.
Recognition does not travel that quickly. It took a decade for Oak Valley to get a four star rating from Golf Digest. Once it did, Beaumont suddenly became a golf stopping spot on the Palm Springs express. Now, you're considered a smart golfer if you linger on the way to Palm Springs.
"It's a nice getaway from the crowds in the desert, as well as some of the other, more populated golf areas," head pro Scott Arnold said. "It's almost like being in the country. No houses line the fairways. Each hole is different. And because of the way it's laid out, you often can't even see another hole from the one you're playing."

So So
Fairways were clumpy and pretty dead. Impossible to get a good lye. Greenskeepers must have been pretty passed off today. Pins were in Impossible positions. 5 paces off the edges and on down slopes and lightning fast.. Brutal. Also, the range, that used to be grass, now has mats on top of the grass. When you swing, sometimes the mat will shift and the ball will fall off the tee. Very disappointed in this. I'm usually a picture taker for the gram but today I didn't take a single pic.
What a Surprise!
I have been playing the desert courses in the Palm Spring area. Another golfer I was playing with recommended it. I decided to drive over th Beaumont. I very much enjoyed playing Oak Valley. It's layout, greens and it look I very much enjoyed. It's a must play for me any time I come to the Palm Spring area in the future.
Fairway and green
Very nice greens fairways was in good shape this is a very good course to challenge yourself in putting and making the shot in the fairways
Great Day
Excellent course the greens and tee boxes were in great shape. As usual with Inland Empire tracks they do a poor job overseading. The fairways were ok but not great and you are often hitting off dormant Bermuda. Regardless, it was a great day!
Nice course
Good conditions with slight delay because of frost. Layout was great and the views are awesome
Not what it used to be
Loved this course for YEARS! However, perhaps due to lack of rain, the fairways and rough have dried out and has take away the course's beauty. It could probably use aerating to maximize water usage/effects. Fun, but not as wonderful a round of past years
Windy Day
Fun but cold and windy day. Fun layout with rolling lies. Greens in good condition.
Great layout
First time I’ve played here and it was really nice. Drove out with 3 friends from the OC and it was well worth the trip. Course has a lot of character and the layout is fun to play.

Never a boring course. Each hole is different and challenging. Greens are in perfect condition as always. Great driving range and short game area. Reasonable price. Highly recommended!
