Chula Vista Golf Course

Weather conditions, newest, tough, rainy, windy, hail, greens are fast and spectacular, which is the key to a good golf course Johnny and Gabe in the pro shop or super cool guys Chula Vista is a very competitive golf course. Love it.

We enjoyed the course but we were rather annoyed how backed up hole four became. It looks like they invested well in the greens. The rest of the course was okay but we okayed during the rainy season. One of the randos in our group said it’s practically unplayable in the summer as the fairways dry up and die.

I always have liked Bily Casper designs.

Good site and open fairways But you are forgiven on a drive a little off center....watch out on the approach shot.

You have to be precise to set up a birdie.

Course needs a long term plan to shut one hole at a time

replace turf in fairways. Plow and treat soil reseed place a pitch hole to existing greens should not be a inconveniece for players.

With repaired fairways this would be an excelent public course.

the best thing i thought was the greens, kinda fast so don't hit it that hard to cozy it up to the hole. Fairways are a work in progress i guess, had a lot o dirt lies. Pace was good for CV, did it in 5 hours, even with a tournament in front of us!!!! Had a good day even with a high score....

Our 1030 tee time didn’t tee off until close to 1100. Pace of play can be slow on the weekends but not finishing un til 430 is a joke. No Marshall to be seen, cart girl seen once, how can you schedule a tee time at 1030 and barely finish before sunset?

I love this course for the layout and conditions but management needs improvement.

Worst pace of play at any golf course. The starter let 2 tee times go out with 6 players each. Cart broke down 4 times as we played the front 9. Will not play here again or recommend.

muddy and flooded in few areas. . skip a couple holes becuse of mud and water puddle. over all alright

Nice greens, sand in bunkers, the rest of the course is a mess.

I've seen cow pastures with more grass and smoother terrain.

Greens were in good shape but the fairways were awful

Why the City of Chula Vista doesn't invest money in this muni course is beyond me. The course has so much potential. It is in the middle of Rohr park, the 2nd largest public park in the county. Beautiful surroundings, yet it is in terrible conditions!

The fairways, if you can call them that, are dirt pathways with a lot of mud. The greens were airing, so all of the SOCAL ones, no blame here.

Please do something about this course!

A group of SIX PEOPLE were ahead of me,!not only should that never have been allowed in the first place, but after multiple people called the clubhouse to complain about the insanely slow pace of play. The club house did nothing to fix the situation. I became so frustrated I left after just 10 holes. Not to mention the course is in horrible condition. Slow greens, more mud than there is grass. I guess that’s what you get if you don’t pay an arm and a leg for green fees 🤦🏻‍♂️

The redeeming aspect of Chula Vista Golf are the greens. They are well kept ( better if players consistently repair their pitch marks). They roll true with not much mystery on breaks. Greens were pleasantly fast but holds your approaches. You may confidently target pins. Fairways need work though as a lot of dirt all around. All in all good value really. Spent a good afternoon round and wouldn't mind playing it again.
