Chula Vista Golf Course

Sorry to have to say this, but this course is not in playable condition right now. Several fairways are only dirt and all have lots of dirt and little grass. Greens are slow and some have crab grass growing into them.

It's a shame because the layout is good, and this course could be great if it were rehabilitated. We played with a gentleman who has been playing the course for 34 years, and he said it was in great condition years ago, so i know it's possible.

On the positive side, weather was great with a nice breeze. We'll keep an eye out for improvements and try again if they occur.

For the money that I paid for the round, the course conditions reflects it. Most of the fairways barely have grass. The greens were better though. No bald spots. I would play this course again if i get to pay the same amount.

Still needs lots of work on all fairways. It is terrible that the city of Chula Vista lets their golf course go to ruin.

The pro shop wont honor the deal I got at Golfnow, he said I personally do not like using third parties. I have been using golf now for many years and never have problems with the hot deals or good deal offers. So he cancelled my tee time and wants me to just play 9 holes., No matter how I explained he wont give the deal.

Fairways need lots of work. Reasonably priced green fees.

They never tell you ahead of time that there may he a 2836 person tourney. Our tee time was 3:30….we did not get to hole two and start until 4:30. It was the absolute worst. And all the fairways were trash. We didn’t even get to finish. It was a waste of time and everyone in my group was sad that we spent time there.

Still plays a bit slow but everything is right out in front of you. Keep it in the fairway - lots of run. Bunkers look good but are really hard surface under a thin cover of sand. Fair but local knowledge helps. Greens were in really good shape. Rolled true.

Got charged online one price but then I get there, they charged me more because I didn’t have a resident card. The course conditions were pretty crap, the greens at least were decent. But the fairways and surrounding spots are just crap, the price really should be a lot less for the conditions of the course.

I think residents of Chula Vista get a special deal to play this course. I would only play it again if there was little to no charge. I payed the full freight and it was the equivalent of playing a course without a fairway. We played winter rules and move the ball but it just got ridiculous after a while. I wish I could give this course a better review because the staff was wonderful.

Very cheap, extremely slow pace, horrible fairways, OK greens.
