Oaks/Canyon at Blacklake Golf Course
About
Blacklake Golf Resort boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are divided into three nines called the Oaks, Canyons, and Lakes. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Oaks/Canyons Course is the toughest of the three. The front nine features narrow fairways that wind through mature coastal oaks. If you're not careful, you may find yourself in the woods on this challenging target-style layout. The back nine doesn't get any easier with a layout that tumbles across rolling terrain. With the resort's location on the Nipomo Mesa along California's Central Coast, the elevated tee boxes on the Canyons nine allows for some stunning views. The location also invites refreshing sea breezes. In addition to the three golf courses, there is also a 275-yard driving range available with more than 30 grass and artificial teeing areas as well as three putting, chipping, and pitching greens.

Fun
Pretty course. Need to shoot straight as several of the holes have narrow shots from the tees. I lost only 2 balls. Both went into water on same hole. One was a chip onto false front of the green and rolled into water. Not fair. My friend who is a 70s golfer took 9 penalty shots on Oaks course. Oh and my wife beat me. That hardly ever happens. But she is good. On the 6th hole of Lakes you figure out why it is called Blacklake...
Well laid out great signage
Great staff well laid out very accommodating we will be going back soon.
bang for the buck
The course is in wonderful shape! We had a great day of golf and huge discount. The staff was friendly and helpful and nothing spoiled our round.
Unfair from the back tees
Played the back tees. Trees need to be trimmed back openings from the blue tees appear to be 15 to 20 feet on a couple holes. My playing partner played the white tees and course appeared to be a lot more fair with openings much wider. Not really fair and sort of tricked up. Last time for me.
Not Worth the Money.
Pace of play was good since nobody was out there. Soon found out why, course was in terrible condition, virtually no grass on the driving range tee box. This carried over to the rest of the course, basically the course isn't being cared for, except the greens were in reasonable shape. Pretty decent layout, just rundown, we didn't understand why the owners would do this.
Got a low rate thru GolfNow, still not worth it, we all decided that we'd rather pay more and play Monarch Dunes.
Bathrooms
Men's bathroom near the cart return REALLY needed servicing. Golf was fine.
GREAT TIME
The course was a lot of fun to play. It was challenging but not so difficult that we couldn't enjoy it. The greens were particularly challenging and could have been in better shape.
Great value
Don't tell anyone how nice we were treated by the head pro and staff. Loved our day.
excellent, had aa great round of golf and day out with friends
Excellent, Outstanding day with out of town guests. We all felt we would like to play there again. Thank you so much for a great deal.
Not bad on a hot deal
Conditions vary. The course is not always well maintained but pace of play is good and well worth the money on a hot deal.
Great courses
The course was in greet shape, and the service is even better, From the guys in the pro shop to the Marshall's and the bar, the service was super friendly
me and my son get to golf
It is a very good course I would recommend it to all golfers young and old it like playing three golf course at one time its great
Ok for the cost
This course has 3 nines. We booked the two that we like (Canyon and Oaks) When we checked in, we were told that we had to play the Lakes course. I would have played some where else if I knew that. This is the second and last time that has happened.
The greens sux
Won't play again! Many very nice courses close by.
Three courses to choose from.
Given the shortage of water the course was in good condition. This facility has three 9 hole courses, the "Oaks" greens were in the worst shape. But playable. I will play this course again.
golf now at Blacklake
Course in pretty good conditions. Greens were in very good shape and rolled true if struck well. Tee box very very poor with long grasses and divots thru out. But teeing it up and swinging away didn't hurt game. Fairways were in good condition. Weather was good and staff was running a First tee workshop and can only help keep the game alive for the next generation.
Black Lake
Fairways were acceptable but not great; a. Umber of the tee boxes were ungroomed and unlevel. Greens were in pretty good shape.
Great Value
Great day to play Golf, never waited on a single hole.
Golf at Blacklake
We had two tee times with 7 players. A good time was had by all. Several holes were quite challenging with very different landscape between the two nines
