Oaks/Canyon at Blacklake Golf Course
About
Blacklake Golf Resort boasts 27 holes of championship golf that are divided into three nines called the Oaks, Canyons, and Lakes. The nines can be played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Oaks/Canyons Course is the toughest of the three. The front nine features narrow fairways that wind through mature coastal oaks. If you're not careful, you may find yourself in the woods on this challenging target-style layout. The back nine doesn't get any easier with a layout that tumbles across rolling terrain. With the resort's location on the Nipomo Mesa along California's Central Coast, the elevated tee boxes on the Canyons nine allows for some stunning views. The location also invites refreshing sea breezes. In addition to the three golf courses, there is also a 275-yard driving range available with more than 30 grass and artificial teeing areas as well as three putting, chipping, and pitching greens.

Fun at Blacklake
Super fast play on a challenging course. Play all 27 holes for a terrific day of golf
time to trim tree branches.
The old lines of trees on the lake course are in desparate need of a good trim. They act line curtains drawn to protect the greens.
This coarse has interesting features that iit does.
I really enjoyed my game. It had been awhile since we have golfed there. Weather was great not being rushed. Great golf !!!!!! no pressure. Thanks
The price was right
The fairways and rough are in bad shape. There are a lot of bare or barely covered with grass areas. The greens are in excellent condition.
RETURNING COURSE
For a while this course was a mess, it is under new management and is returning to its former glory.
If you happen to be in the area...
This course is made up of three nine holes - The Lakes, the Oaks and the Canyon.
We played the Lakes on the front nine and the Oaks on the back...
The Lakes course is pretty wide open so easy to recover any stray shots while the Oaks has tighter fairways on some holes. Greens were well maintained. Our cart started dying around the 16th hole; had to push the cart from the 18th green back to the cart shed... LOL!
Enjoyed the Oaks better than the Lakes. Would consider going back to play the Canyon course.
great condition
excellent condition, greens are fast but hold. Need to call before ordering on golf now because your not always playing the course you may have paid for.
Mt favorite course
Having three sets of 9 holes is great. Just started golfing again 3 months ago and this is by far my favorite course. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.
the course
I have played black lake many times and the course was always in good shape, this time we went the course was not bad, but not good, and really it was just some of there tee boxes was sand and dirt very little grass patches, but over all I would play there again as the lay out of the course is very nice
Awesome greens, but that is where it ends
The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Black Lakes has 3 9 hole tracks: Canyon, Oaks and Lakes. We played all 3 tracks, The layout of the tracks was fun and most of the holes had something interesting about them. The greens where tight and fast and ran very true. The fairways, tee boxes and rough, unfortunately, where in horrible condition. I would not go back to play because the amount of money they charged versus the condition of the course is improper. I expected a relatively manicured golf course and was disappointed to say the least. I would only play this course again if the green fees where around $20-$25.
Challenging
The coarse was littlered with twigs, probably due to high wind. The Oaks coarse has narrow fairways and fast slopped greens. At least they don't have a lot of sand traps.
Best I've Seen Course in a While
Been playing at Blacklake my whole life and this is absolutely the best I've seen the course ever. Greens were fast and rolled true, and it was evident all around the direction management is taking this course. Great to see.
Men's Club welcoming?
Men's Club most unwelcoming - hostile and rude!!!
Starter put us out on the Lakes cours in the middle of the Monday Men's Club outing. Challenged on the tee box by a bunch of the local yahoos who said we were on the wrong course and got up in our face, very ugly scene. Starter did nothing to defuse the situation. Quit after nine, and most likely will not return as there are lot's of other courses in the area where I can spend my time and money.
do not expect to much
Rerouted upon check-in. Approached first hole and asked starter where are the pins located 1,2 or 3 position per diagram. Starter responded see the flag that is where they are, a real smart mouth. The group had two carts to start, one cart died on 6th hole and we had to walk two holes before we got another cart from clubhouse. Second cart of group died on 11th hole. Might as well walk because you do not get what you paid for!!! I would think twice before booking unless you like to pack up and repack your equipment-some song&dance about batteries.
This course has great features
Course is in good condition and very nice to play. One of the better courses on the central coast when in good condition as it"s been lately. Definitely recommend this course to play.
Great value for coastal golf
Good course. 3 nine hole sections keep it interesting. As with all coast courses the wind always comes into play later in the day. Never disappoints.
Good, fast greens but fairways not in great condition
We would definitely not pay the full course price of $57 - The Oaks is not a good nine, Canyon and Lakes are better. Staff very friendly. Food and beverages are outrageously expensive. We thought $15 for a wine with soda and a Vodka was far too much.
Easy but fun course
My friend and I played as a twosome and were held up a little on the first nine by a fairly slow foursome but the marshall kept play going fairly well. We both set personal records for scores, and I myself have only been playing for a little over a year. For the price this course was in great shape considering its the middle of March and we are at record low rainfall. I highly recommend this course for a fun and decently easy day on the links
value plus
Fairways a little dry and sparse but everything else was great
