Desert Falls Country Club

Had a nice time riding the Blues (6687/72.2/127) with Marvin for our GK Cup match. We had a nice couple with us on the front, then played as a 2some of the back. I played 18 more as a replay on an UP voucher. 7H total POP, slightly over 4H first 18 as a group, then slightly under 3H second 18 as a single. The weather was sunny, breezy and in the mid 90's.

Fun links layout set among rolling hills. Fairly open course even with a decent amount of trees, water, high native grass and OB to keep you focused.

Tees mostly lush and well maintained for divots.

Fairways were firm and semi lush. Very playable.

Rough mowed a little higher and less uniformly lush than the fairways. Native rough is calf deep and almost a sure lost ball.

Green side traps have decent sand and were well maintained. Fairway traps much rougher around the edges and play firm.

Greens putted medium fast speed and were smooth/firm. Hardly any ball marks because of the firmness.

No GPS on the basic carts and the course is not well marked for yardage. Very friendly pro shop and cart staff. All grass range included in your fee. Bath rooms on course open, divot mix back on the carts, rakes in the traps. Restaurant closed, no ball washers or water stations available, but they put ice in the ice chest.

Recommended.

Wide fairways, very good condition made for an enjoyable day. Enough trouble to keep you honest, but not overly difficult like some resort courses.

Course is long and challenging. Lots a variation with the fairways, greens are pretty true. Pace of play was great for this time of year. Recommend it.

We have played this course more than 20 times over past 18 years. Very nice course. Greens are good but not great.

Pace of play was about 5 hours today and really hurt our enjoyment of the course

This course is immaculate and a credit to the ground keepers. Enjoyed playing it very much.

We are beginning golfers and this course has very steep greens, numerous hazards and I would not recommend it for the faint of heart.

Love this course. Went off in the afternoon and no wait at all. Pins are fun and exciting, perfect blend of difficulty throughout. Just enough water to challenge, not too much to be annoying. Greens are smooth and true!

The course played very well, the layout was challenging but not overly so, and the staff was very friendly. The only negative was that the water was off so there was no clubhouse dining, takeout or beverage service. And no beverage carts on the course, either.

This course is well designed .. I found it to be very challenging, fun to play, and well kept.

Was pleasantly surprised. Had heard bad things about the course prior to playing. However, I believe the person had not played there for a couple years. Apparently new management has put the course back into very playable condition. Would definitely play again.

4 star course with a zero star staff. Completely unacceptable the way the pro shop employees treat customers. General Manager was great in trying to rectify the situation but at the end of the day it is his duty to deal with the poorest customer service I have ever encountered in my 30 years of golf. I have never written a review before today but the treatment we received from the staff was atrocious. Maybe someone in charge can clue in the proshop that the golfers pay their salaries. Acting as though they were doing us a favor by allowing us to golf. Insane. Too many choices around the desert to pay this one for the treatment rendered.
