San Ignacio Golf Club

About
Located in Green Valley just a short drive south of Tucson, lies San Ignacio Golf Club. An Arthur Hills design, San Ignacio features well placed grass bunkers, dynamically shaped Bermuda fairways and some of the smoothest greens in Arizona. Known for the friendly nature of the course and the staff, San Ignacio is a favorite among the locals from the retirement community of Green Valley and nearby Tucson. The way the course rests naturally among the canyons, ridges and arroyos of the Santa Cruz River Valley pays tribute to the desert and the commanding views of the surrounding mountains. But be aware, the course can play very tight and any errant shot can fall short into many waiting greenside bunkers.

Very Nice
GPS ON CARTS IS VERY CONVENIENT. Course is best in Green Valley.
Javelina in the Desert
Picturesque with at least a dozen javalenin'as watching your drive on the very first hole. Course was in good shape and placed with members who were able to direct us to where to aim, etc.
Stayed for dinner after and this is where the stars went down. Took alsmot 20 minutes to get a server and more time to just get water; let alone a beverage. Food was good, just need more staff.
Too Much Time
Just played 18 holes Sunday that took 5 hours. 18 holes at other surrounding courses might take 4 hours because Rangers go around and keep the pace moving. I watched the group in front keep dropping second balls to hit because they didn't like there first hit. This should not be taking place and the Ranger was seen one time. Other than pace.the course is well maintained. Beverage cart came twice which due to heat was great!
Course was in great condition!
I hadn’t played San Ignacio in about 20 years, but it was everything I remembered and in much better condition.
I gave the “off course amenities” one star rating because we came in after our round looking to have a 19th hole beverage only to be disappointed by being told the lounge was closed for a private party. I understand special events, but I would think there would be room for a few golfers to relax after their round. There was no one seated when we walked in.
Desert golf
I found this course to be quite challenging. If you don’t hit the fairway you could be in trouble. Lots of run off on the greens if you can’t elevate your ball.
Pleasant Surprise
My son and I tried out the IGGY course and found it to be a very nice course for the price. Beautiful setting and wildlife everywhere. The course was in great shape. Like others shared the pace of play was a little slow but still really enjoyed the course and round of golf. We will be going back.
