A good Hot Deal
I've enjoyed playing Pumpkin Ridge whenever I found a good Hot Deal. That's why I rated each category five stars, but the price range keeps me from playing it more often.
Loved Pumpkin!
Greens are VERY FAST! Beautiful setting. Great friendly staff. Bucket list for sure.
First time
Wow, was really excited to play this course based on word of mouth, reviews and legacy but was left underwhelmed. The good, Course layout was challenging and fun and the staff members were friendly. Not great, Fairways were dry with brown grass not what I was expecting at this price point. French drains in fairways formed dirt zebra type lines, not sure if it’s new drain additions or what but not great. Haven’t played a Portland area course I wouldn’t recommend until pr. Can check it off the list but will not return
Great day in North Plains
Weather was perfect. The course in wonderful condition. All four of us had a great day.
One exception--I went into the pro shop asking for a spike wrench, as two of mine came off before the round. They didn't have a wrench....
Pumpkin Ridge used to be a great golf course
Pumpkin Ridge used to be the premier place to play in the Portland. Oregon area. I was surprised by the course conditions and lack of customer service. This was a holiday weekend at prime time and no starters and/or rangers on the course. The beverage cart was last seen on hole one and never seen again. Slow pace of play - waiting on almost every hole especially on the back 9 (again no rangers), It was hot out there and no water could be found. It got so bad that we finally called the pro shop and asked about beverage cart and pace of play and was basically told not my job. The beverage cart is someone else’s responsibility…. A number of tee boxes were an absolute mess. Overall course conditions were not up to the caliber of this of this golf course. Not sure what’s going on at Pumpkin Ridge. It used to be a great experience - attentive service, great course conditions, and good pace of play. It’s a shame because this is an excellent track.
Conditions and services have deteriorated at Pumpkin Ridge
This golf course used to be one of the best in the Portland, Oregon area. Something has changed at Pumpkin Ridge and not for the good. Course conditions were not on par for this level of a golf course. A number of tee boxes were in pitiful condition. Maintenance seems to be really lacking. There was one beverage cart that came by on the first hole never to be seen again. Pace of play was extremely slow. No starters, no rangers, no nothing…
At the prices Pumpkin Ridge charges, perhaps they can afford to hire some qualified staff to return it back into what it once was and can be. Not sure if I can recommend Pumpkin Ridge to anyone under the current circumstances, which is too bad, since it is an excellent track.
gorgeous day
Beautiful course. The ghost creek was flowing and the birds were chirping. I would have wished for a few more "birdies" but that's on me.
Solid but overpriced
Would give 5 stars if this was under $100 but not what you usually get for $150. Layout was decent and conditions were also pretty good. The fairways weren’t cut very low and I had my ball sitting down in the fairway several times. I think The Reserve south course down the road is better in all aspects and is half the price. Would come back for under $100 but not worth more than that.
Great golf
a wonderful layout, conditions were very - , very good, extremely fast greens - pretty expensive but a nice splurge
Great course!
Played in early spring after a ton of rain. Course was a bit soggy, especially in the rough. But fairways & greens were great.
Still a bit too wet
Course and staff are amazing. But conditions are a bit still too wet for good play. Be prepared to lose a few balls as a lot of shots tend to plug in the super wet grass and are difficult to find cause they can't mow the rough down.
