Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club - Ghost Creek Course

Would give 5 stars if this was under $100 but not what you usually get for $150. Layout was decent and conditions were also pretty good. The fairways weren’t cut very low and I had my ball sitting down in the fairway several times. I think The Reserve south course down the road is better in all aspects and is half the price. Would come back for under $100 but not worth more than that.

Played in early spring after a ton of rain. Course was a bit soggy, especially in the rough. But fairways & greens were great.

Course and staff are amazing. But conditions are a bit still too wet for good play. Be prepared to lose a few balls as a lot of shots tend to plug in the super wet grass and are difficult to find cause they can't mow the rough down.

Ghost Creek is a well designed course with a good balance of challenging shots and attractive aesthetics. The pace was good, but drainage could be better - greens were in good shape but everything else was way over-saturated & sloppy after heavy rain the day before. I’d say this is pretty typical for courses in the area since it’s essentially converted farmland rather than sandy linksland, so some soft conditions were to be expected given the season and weather, but I had higher expectations given Pumpkin Ridge’s reputation and cost.

Greens were insanely fast. Pace of play was a little slow because of cart path only, but if you have a pushcart it was awesome. Fairway’s were dry and you could get roll. Would highly recommend.

It had rained very hard for about 3 or 4 hours. Maybe a quarter inch. We teed off and rained had stopped, Course dried out and drained in no time.

They also had just punched the greens on Wednesday, but other than a little sand on your golf ball the greens were perfect. Best aerated greens I have ever played.
