Golf is great
Great place to spend a few hours even though the temps were just in the 50's and there was a pretty hefty wind (always against you). Golfers were few, but conditions were excellent considering we're only a couple weeks into the season. Staff was first class and rates were super. Highly recommend this course. Will be back several more times this year.
Good challenge
The course is thought provoking in that one cannot just hit the ball everwhere and still score.
Great course fun to play excellent staff.
Challenging enough from the tips for an experienced golfer easy enough from the fronts for the beginner great variety.
This is an excellent course.
Great value for the money through golfnow. I will definitely put this course in my top 5 and plan on frequently playing again next year.
Very nice course
Course is in great shape. Very friendly staff and players as well. Can't beat the golf now pricing. The back is challenging with a number of shorter 90 degree holes that require accurate distance control.
Enjoyable course to play, some challenging and risk/reward holes
Front nine is more open and less challenging than the
back nine which offers more seclusion, scenery, and
woodlands.
Nice course, friendly staff.
This is a well maintained course which appears to be easy from the front 9, then you realize the back 9 is where the challenge is. Staff was helpful and friendly.
Links and Woods
I paid $11 and would do that any day. The front nine was incredibly easy and an average attempt at a links style course. The back nine was much more scenic with plenty of trees and the typical grooming issues of a public track. They just vertical cut the greens which created a bumpy roll to the cup.
Good golf Link between Ann Arbor and Brighton
The Links at Whitmore Lake offers the look and feel of 2 courses rolled into one. The front nine is more open with rolling hills and accuracy challenges as well as good distances. The back nine looks more like an 'up north' course with 11 having one of the most beautiful views around from the tee. Truly links style on many holes, one tee box raised above a marsh to an uphill blind pin placement. There are several, well maintained driving trails from green to the next tee and are all through lush green mid-western forest.
Nice course
Well maintained course, the beer cart girl is very scarce so if you plan on drinking load up at the clubhouse.
Very nice layout.
Dr Jekyl / Mr Hyde type of set-up. Front nine is pretty wide open. Back nine is pretty wooded. Lots of marsh shots off the tee.. Severe dog legs. You could easily leave your driver in the bag for all but three holes unless you can shape the ball flight well with your driver or you like losing a lot of balls. Great challenge some rather unusual but well worth the trip!
Great course great deal
Course was beautiful. Great price well worth the round.
Great value
Two completely different sides. Front pretty much wide open while the back is more tight, and is target oriented. Fun course to play. Well maintained.
Love the many different contours of this course.
Front nine totally different then the back. Scottish layout on the front. Precision shots that are not long. Back nine has more length and woods like up north.
Cut the greens...
Layout is good and you have to hit good shots, which makes it A bit of a challenge, but might be the slowest greens I have ever played on. I have played this course in the past with the same, slow greens. You have to absolutely hammer the ball to get it to the hole. You would figure the day before a holiday weekend, they would have it dialed in. If they cut the greens, this course would be a super value. My son and I do enjoy it.
Not very long but very challanging
Pleasantly surprised, the course was well maintained and it had plenty of hazards to keep this short in length course interesting. It may be helpful to having a way to get lay-up yardage for some of the doglegs on the back nine. All in all, a nice course to add to my list of courses worth playing.
Fun and fair course
Not a easy course but at the same time very fair. True putting surfaces and rough kept manageable. Nice staff and clubhouse.
Good for the price
Fun little course; not very challenging but is usually in pretty good shape.
Great use of the wetlands terrain.
100 yard markers would be a great addition on the fairways.
The red bricks in the middle of the fairway, mark 100 yards to the middle of the green. They have them on every hole.
